Re: To whom it may concern

It is possible to PM the seller, but many are not members and only want to advertise the Minor. Many don't answer PMs, as possibly they don't even know a PM exists!

Re: Chassis numbers nearest to mine

Not exactly what you were looking for, but for a time I had the last minor 2 door saloon built on 12-18th November 1970, FMT 265J. That chassis number ended ***8377M.

Re: Restoration advice.

Hi Charlie, it's definitely a 1956 car from around April that year. The car chassis number 414971 is April 1956, and the chassis number letters, FAA11 indicate a RHD Minor 4 door in black synthetic paint which it surely is. So you have a genuine car, in original colour, with the original 1956 regist...

Re: Restoration advise.

183 GHK is definitely a March/April 1956 registration from Essex. Can you read the chassis number plate on the o/s upper bulkhead in the engine compartment? That should enable you to identify the age and model of the car. Don't post numbers openly on here, send it by private message if you send it t...

Re: History of car

AUR was issued in Hertfordshire, end of 1967/early 1968. Try Hertfordshire CC archive records for log book details. They have most registrations up to 1977 and you can ask for details online. Like you 'name'. I have owned Ford Consuls, a late '58 NRJ 444, and 83 NNU, a 1960 car. 3 speed column chang...

Re: 2 door split screen, side valve, 1952/3

I agree with 'Manyminors', they are not as popular as some of the later models. I happen to like them, as my first ever car was a 1952 Minor sidevalve 2 door, KWF 904. If some photos of key areas of the car were available, then maybe a ballpark figure could be possible. To me in the current market ,...

Message board outage for last couple of days

Just a word of thanks to those that have successfully got the messageboard back up and working tonight! It looks as if it was off a couple of days at least, so maybe not a simple one to sort out. Thanks again!

Car not shown as current on the DVLA web site, so likely scrapped. Only other hope is the car is still current but has had the registration put on retention by the owner. This would not show on DVLA online.

Re: Tracing a 1956 Morris from across the Pond...

9335 CR would be correct for a Southampton allocated registration to an imported vehicle in 1960. However, the number is not shown as current on the UK DVLA vehicle register, so it has likely been scrapped. There is always a remote chance it is tucked away in storage, but the logbook details should ...
