Re: Wheel alignment

Re: Rear wheel cylinders

Hi les, I can remember you said you use sylicone brake fluid and have said this preserves the wheel cylinders. Can I ask why you needed to replace the rears?

Re: Torsion Bar replacement

Has any work been done on that side of the car that involved dismantling the suspension? It could simply be that the torsion bar on that side needs resetting.

Re: Car cover propping

If I was going to prop the cover my way would be to use 21mm overflow pipe, easy to make a frame like a tent frame so the cover does not sit on the car and the connections are available. https://www.wickes.co.uk/FloPlast-OS10W-Overflow-System-Straight-Coupling---White-21-5mm-Pack-of-3/p/175676 https...

Cheaper one.... https://www.ebay.de/itm/Priopa-Ol-Booster-Olfilter-Magnet-Olfilter-Magnetband-kurzbar-Lange-25-cm/132625827713?hash=item1ee11d8781:g:caMAAOSwru9a~tYI:rk:1:pf:0 An even cheaper method is use the magnets from a failed hard disk drive and as belt and braces a couple of tie wraps

Re: A Minor Setback

ESM sell the DD yellow wire condenser (code DST106R) and the red rotor arm (code DST104AR).
If a good quality condenser is fitted the points don't get burnt away and all that is required is to check the points gap as part of the service intervals.

I fitted the Accuspark module about 2 years ago after suffering from issues with poor quality ignition parts, straight swap for the points and no adjustment of the dizzy required, since then I have had no issues and the engine (948cc) runs much smoother. I did not swap the complete dizzy as I felt t...

Re: Beginners question of the day.

Halfords supply the filter off the shelf, hof203 is the ref. Regarding touch up paint, be aware that the colors may not match from a rattle can. You would be better going with a sample to a local supplier and get some mixed.

If you feel the heater output is poor, it's a simple task to flush it. Just disconnect the pipes and back flush the heater into a bucket.

Re: Front and rear steering dampers

If there is little oil in them,i.e. Below the damper arm level the you can be safe in the knowledge it has leaked out and when you refill them they will leak again. The rubber seals will be dry and worn.
