Re: Clutch pressure plate set up
Capture.PNG Correct gauge plate fitted, adjust thrust plate to sit parallel and at same height as central stub. Without the correct gauge plate you are a bit stuffed. Manual says that just using the driven plate is not ideal since you don't know for certain that it is flat and parallel, however, it...

Re: Clutch pressure plate set up
From memory, that isn't how it is done. You set it on a very flat plate and adjust the screws to bring the thrust plate to a set height and perfectly level. Not done it, only read about it a while ago.

Re: Floor dip switch
Unscrew the dip switch from the floor, remove the 3 wires (noting position and colour), screw dipswitch to bottom of dashboard in comfortable position and then run new wires of suitable thickness from original position to the new position. You will need 3 long wires, 6 "Bullet connectors" ...

Re: Thread sizes
Plug in the back of the Lockheed master cylinder where a stub can be fitted for a remote reservoir. It is 1 inch x 20 tpi, UNEF. Same thread as pop-off valve on the Shorrocks supercharger. On page one it says BSC but I'm somewhat doubtful of this since 1 BSC is 26 tpi.

It was a Halfords HOF 205 or 250. I can't recall which and it's turned so I can't see it.

I like the stuff you write, Phil. Always finding the definitive answer by 'doing it' first.
Thanks.

I can just get a finger between the engine bay crossmember and the bolt head holding the gearbox on. Same as the photo from Michiel above.

Series MM stubs are much smaller. Looks like the .875 is for one of those.

Re: radiator
Lots of alloy rads for about the same price, which is interesting when you consider how much more radiator you get from the Chinese alloy ones. About 1cm. Too bloody wide to fit in the car without cutting and welding the front panel. PS Only bought it so I could easily weld on some added extr...

Re: Rich
Might possibly be crudded up at the bottom of the float chamber where it leads up to the needle. Can you lift out the brass float? It does sound like a lack of fuel getting through. Does the piston visibly rise when it first fires?
