They have sealing rubbers? It normally a fibre/graphite packing as used on valves/water stopcocks etc Picking it out will wreck it ......as Geoberni found out :wink: You normally just tighten the gland nut slightly to stop leaks as it compresses the packing and sometimes the brass shaft needs a cle...

Yes but as I understand/read that reg if a replacement Wipac quadoptic halogen unit for example has been fitted since 1986 then fitting LED is a still a failure but not if fitted to the original Lucas 700 headlamp? But if you are saying anything goes LED HID wise on a pre 86 car regardless then you ...

Details should be on the traveller plans drawings?

Have you got the channels with the oval drain slots pre punched out?

The traveller companion book suggests only a couple of screws are used they are CSK head....

They are from the widley published and shared internet plans set so mostly the later car version....but will presumably fit all years just wont be entirely 'correct' for the year...eg some years had laminated rear pillars.....some had only one lamp hole etc...

Yes thats where they are on each of my travellers and saloons there is a little cut out for the nut and washer in the flange...

Out of interest...earlier SII's had different battery straps which clamped front to back and incorporated rubber corner clamping pieces. They also had the large rubber bung, the two smaller 'cushons' ...the battery itself sits on a spirit blacked plywood and hardwood tray which is bolted to the cars...

Its just about knowing what words to use when searching ebay :D :wink:

For example if you search for 'Morris Minor' you may not see a lot of items listed as 'Morris 1000' or 'Morris Traveller'......

Best bet is have your old shoes relined you can then choose the lining material

Plenty of firms do it... try Villiers Services...about £20 plus vat and pp for each pair
