Yes, well done for taking it on, the Morris Minor design lends itself to the DIY owner/restorer, the consequence being satisfaction and financial saving. My projects wouldn’t have happened if I had to pay someone.

The MMOC forum allows non members to access the forum, this is handy because many non members are people that may once have owned a Minor and now wish to sell/donate spares they may have collected in the past. To make membership compulsory would put these people off from doing this. That includes LC...

The bearing numbers are the key, not easy while in package though. Useable, don’t see why not, even if you had to clean and repack with fresh grease, certainly they won’t be worn.

I changed to silicone a long while ago, again took the advise from reliable sources to renew rubbers and not mix. So far all is well.

Would it start with an air leak at the manifold, you sure you didn’t disturb the throttle in any way when you were working.

Does the ignition lamp light up when you turn on the ignition, if not battery connection may be bad. If driver drove it off of the transport, I imagine wiring is ok. I presume there is no battery isolator fitted.

I suppose it has its advantages being that laid back but we all have different natures, which we’ve either inherited or learnt.
My instinct is to note most things, not just vehicle stuff. It’s almost a self defence thing, just in case !! :wink:
