Glovebox door queerie
I have a 1970 morris minor and would like to fit a pair of glovebox lids to the dash and wonder if the earlier flat lids would fit my car please?

Re: Best place to buy a quality replacement mohair hood?
That's a fabulous looking Hood Rob and it looks a very decent fit too, is it easy enough to clean as I had an Mgf mohair hood that stained quite easily.
The mohair roof does look better quality to my vinyl roof which is the same colour as yours.

Hi Pete,
Charles ware supply Mohair roofss, although I've not seen one in the flesh.
I have a convertible with a vinyl roof and would be interested how you get on and if the Mohair roof is better/improvement in anyway.
many thanks
Alan

Re: New traveller carpets
I bought my Traveller carpets from Andrew Eggleton and I bought the premium set as the cheaper ones were thinner.
They fit very well too.

Re: Refurbish Vs Replace
I work in a garage and when I talk with the young lads about alternator rebuilds and replacing brushes they look at me very strangely. Why bother when you can fit a new one is usually the answer. I much prefer the old days where skills were far greater and the job was far more interesting to strip,f...

Re: Heated front screen wiring help
I've put an ammeter across the battery today and it's 12v4. As I turn the heated screen on the volts drop to 11v 8 so am I correct in thinking that the screen is working as it should please?

timing chain queerie
My Morris convertible 1098 engine is due for a timing chain replacement as it is rattling and I wonder...
Is it a easy enough job to do with any tips and should I replace the sprockets as a kit or chain on its own?
many thanks

Re: Rust-proofing: Dinitrol or Dynax?
I did my car with Dynax S50 and used a sealey SG18 gun to apply it. Like most of these products it is fairly thick like treacle and will not spray very well if at all when it is cold, my solution was to have a bucket of very hot water and stand the 5 litre container of S50 in it for a while to warm...

Re: Water leaks
Thats exactly what is happening Phil, I did wonder if it was worth fitting a seal to the b post where the window slides shut aswell maybe.
