Re: XK150 Traveller

Awful Roof Line.
Agreed. I didn't see that just from the photo I posted.

Another problem. Which owners club do you join? :D

XK150 Traveller

This is for sale.

The ultimate 'cut and shut'? Perhaps, but I'm not sure and I don't think I'm going to risk £44.995 to see if it grows on me.

How big is that boot???

Where can you get these giant boot lids from? :D

I've no idea how this apparent optical illusion works.....I expect someone on here will come up with some photographic/scientific explanation soon.

Re: How’s this for a crankshaft?

How big are the big ends going to be for that? Surely they're going to need a box of giant ends? :D :D I think they're still looking for some NOS.

This guy's got to having a laugh....surely?

As I've said before on here, I'm no expert on anything whatsoever, so that includes lcv prices but surely this one is a tad overpriced?

Phew, what a relief...............I thought it was just me :D This is one of my pet hates too and I have to say, along with many other grammatical errors, that are all too frequently seen in adverts and forums......even classic car magazines! Last month's 'Practical Classics' referred to uprating Ma...

Re: Spotted today.

Thanks MM for the 'transitional' explanation. Whilst I've got everyone's attention.......just for the record, what is the form or etiquette on showing registration numbers on this particular thread? Or is there none at all? I have posted a couple of snaps before but they have either been exhibition ...

Re: Spotted today.

I was given to understand that the so-called 'transitional' models were from Sept/Oct '62 after the introduction of the 1098cc engine up to late '63/early '64 when all the old parts bins were finally empty and production proceeded with all the new upgrades, including the pivotal/radial style windscr...

Re: Spotted today.

That is very striking 8) An odd combination though: You've blanked the reg number so maybe it is an earlier car painted in a late colour(?) but, on the face of it, I assumed it was a late production model (late colour, late interior mirror and front lights) but then spotted the early clap hands wip...

Re: Spotted today.

I've seen it few times (always in the same place) whilst out on my bike....but either never had my phone on me or been too busy. Today was the day!
It is an absolutely beautiful lime flower green traveller park outside Millhouses park, Sheffield about a mile from my home.

Re: Filthy Lucre

I'm sure, Mike, we're both on the same side here. I abhor, as much as you do, the bully boy tactics of the scumbag outfits that you have described. There's a difference between targeted advertising (eg: kids toys on CBeebies, rather than during News at Ten) and exploitation of vulnerable people. We ...

Re: Filthy Lucre

I'm probably going to stick my head above the parapet here by suggesting that gambling and any of the other addictive 'vices' (alcohol, drugs, smoking etc.) are not compulsory . In a free society, they are all lifestyle choices. Of course, I accept that some, if not all, of the companies selling the...

Re: EBAY SCAMMER AT IT AGAIN

Well these scammers are always Mobile Phone contact only, so you'd have to hide your number as a minimum or they'd most likely play merry hell with your phone account in revenge. Good point. A few weeks ago, I gave one of my regular landline callers (Amazon Prime or HMRC or some such other) a piece...

Re: EBAY SCAMMER AT IT AGAIN

Every time these scumbags come on eBay with these ridiculous and obvious scams, I'm tempted (just for a laugh) to go along with it and either make an offer or ask to see the vehicle/boat/motor-bike or whatever it is. I remember 'sleeper' making that, in my opinion, rather too generous bid :D but has...

Re: Antenna

My issue, to be clear, is not so much with Chinese products per se, rather with any shoddily manufactured goods or those made of poor quality materials........many of which, in my experience, emanate from that part of the world! I don't like paying more than I have to, just like anyone else, but I'm...

Re: Out with the Old, In with the Not quite as Old!

Mike, I don't know whether you intend replacing the window-runner felt 'in situ' i.e. with the windows still fitted to the doors or with the frames completely removed. If the latter, read no further and press 'return' now. :D I did mine 'in situ' and actually quite enjoyed doing it. The one tip I wo...

I fitted one of these: https://www.raysmith.co.uk/products/retrosound-classic-amplified-am-fm-hide-away-aerial-hidden-pa1-html Not the cheapest by any manner of means, as almost identical looking devices can be bought from any one of about 25 Chinese-based outlets for under a fiver! I fitted mine in...

Every post carries a unique reference number Great idea, love it - but are you sure that is not going to put extra strain on an already creaking system and that it's not going to blow a fuse even more often? :D Not having a 'pop', by the way.
