Messageboard claims "my new email address already in use"

Wishing to update my email to: pplumbe6@bigpond.com (Obsolete one is plumby@aanet.com.au) An attempted update fails however as I told that the bigpond address is "already in use"....... So, since I only use entity "plumby74", can you please either just force the change, OR delete...

Windscreen chrome strips, and the joiners

For sale now on eBay Australia I have some sets of the joiner-sections, they have a slight V shape. It seems they are rare as they can easily come adrift after some 58+ years. I also have (contact me by PM) some of the windscreen "hoops", those would need re-chroming. I also have ONE compl...

Re: Parts needed for MM Rear springs

I am in Melb Australia, but I have a new set of the spring-binding rubbers (NOS, and stored in the dark) and can probably find for you a 2nd axle bump-stop too.....The latter would be Used of course: surely you can get those there, or settle for the later type?

Re: Distributor extension shaft needed

I may have such a shaft, out here in Melbourne, Australia. Should not be too bad to package and post, but can you scan to me a picture or diagram extract of the Manual showing it? PHIL pplumbe6@bigpond.com

Re: Badge in MM glovebox lid

Did you ever get the centre emblem badge for the glovebox? I have recently gained some MM parts out here in Melbourne, Australia and have two of the plastic emblems complete, one of the spun metal earlier type, and a spare badge on a stalk. I know that they are hard to find! Also, there is a petrol ...

Re: Chasing a lower block water-hose outlet 52 918cc sv

I have a choice of sound used ones here in Melbourne, Australia, some alloy and one steel as I recall. One could easily be posted. Will round-up the ones I have and take photos in about 10 hrs. Not sure how to post them here though........Phil

Re: Air cleaner for a 1949 Tourer

Did you get an air-cleaner correct for your early Tourer: I realise it was months ago?! I have that and also many part-used but serviceable Michelin radials (155x14), but Australia may be too far away unless you know someone who is flying back home from here to you!

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block

Yes, I have had such bad silting or blockage in a 1098 engine that i bought that the localised area at the rear of the engine had overheated and the No4 piston had "collapsed". The alloy of the piston was no longer intact or those piston-rings working. Using wire and hose pressure was not ...

Re: Conversion of a 1959 2 door into a Convertible

Sensational, Ben, she looks altogether great and I am sure that with your skills there will be few more blemishes to find once that guide coat is examined. Not sure about the modern steering column though: a bit of a shame to find that in a Morris Minor I think, even though improved/highback seats a...

Re: Conversion of a 1959 2 door into a convertible

Thanks ASL 642, that is word of a great + simpler solution, so please post the closer pics of the bracket that Tom Roy sells, as fitted to your car, on this thread if you can. What are your seats in the feature car taken from, and was making up under-frames difficult? Ben yes, I was involved at the ...

Re: Conversion of a 1959 2 door into a convertible

Hi Ben, You are making great strides, and really get things done when you can weld AND spray-paint. It appears you have not yet removed the roof and cut the windscreen-top? I have the pics and detailed instructions on DVD for that to be done, which I purchased from a source in the UK. Have you got t...

Re: Conversion of a 1959 2 door into a convertible

Hi, I am Phil in Melbourne. I'd LOVE to have your car Rotisserie and improved weather! Am doing a similar conversion at present, but I got the parts and Plates from an original, super-rare for Australia M1000 Convertible that was rusted out. I cut off the parts I needed to use again (or for referenc...
