I'm having some manifold face plates laser cut so that I can weld in some pipes. If you wanted to fabricate an exhaust that works then this is the one! I'm making mine as a twin carb first and might think about producing a run of them if there was enough interest. The tube bender has let me down but...

What about the later MG 1098 block with the larger crank journals and rods? Stronger than 1098 Minor engines.

What sort of price is "stupidly expensive", if you don't mind me asking?

I've got some spare "side" elbows that have the boss cast into them (and even one with a brass hose stub threaded into it). Any help? I still need a new seal for my existing MM waterpump. If you try Jabsco and Mocal in Google then you might find some cheap electric pumps. Minin-7 racers us...

With the Oz-buck exchange rate low at the moment, might it be worth finding out if someone could reverse-engineer the head casting and produce a new one? I've tried to get the Derrington head in my garage copied over here in Wales but the cost is too high.
