Works for me. :D
Best wishes,

Ditto.
50/50 for corrosion protection.

Re: Hesitation

My first check would be dash pot oil. I used to have a car that would have problems at idle speed and just above idle, causing a hesitation (flat spot) when pulling away. Topping up the dash pot oil always sorted it.

Re: Thin and thick brown wire on solenoid

From Berni’s link above. When I posted just before your photo I assumed you have the Type B alternator with both large terminals joined together as that is the only type I have come across to use that style of plug. I now see that it could be the Type A that use the outside large terminal for...

I think you have an alternator fitted correctly with this loom. https://www.morrisminorspares.com/electrical-c54/electrical-switches-charging-c56/wiring-harness-for-alternator-top-quality-uk-made-with-braided-outer-covering-p829745 As you suggest the two large terminals are joined together within th...

Re: Gaskets

If the leak isn’t bad I would leave it as the replacement of the seal can go wrong:- The pinion nut sets the bearing preload by the use of a single use crushable spacer. A workaround if you are only changing the seal would be to mark the nut to the flange so it can be tightened to the exact same pos...

Re: Strange whirring noise under bonnet

Have got jump leads. Is it the same as jump starting a modern car? My husband said something about the car being negative earth and that you have to be careful. What your Husband is referring to is if you use jump leads between two cars with an opposite earth system you have to make sure that no me...

Re: Strange whirring noise under bonnet

Does the fuel pump tick as normal when you turn the ignition on. Just a theory but I reckon an SU pump could be damaged by being left on with a low voltage as the battery runs down, not enough power to make the contacts go overcentre leaving the solenoid coil energised and overheating it, an electro...

Watch it to the end, he has bought the two cylinder 2 Stroke prototype engine.
He also shows off his very original 59 mini featuring the eBay £800 glass washer bottle that I think was mentioned on this forum.

Re: Engine won't start, carburettor problem?

Has it got a servo fitted.
If so, has the hose from it to the inlet manifold become disconnected or perished, letting in too much air and therefore low suction at the carb.

Before you place an offer on the manifold in Phil's link above, the manifold is broken.
