Re: What do you have to declare to the Insurance companies
Ive always though its best to tell them everything as insurers will do there best not to pay out. If you have an accident they look at everything even in some instances taking it to an airfield to check visibility of the car. plus if you have an accident and claim for whiplash or anything concerning...

Re: The price of eggs?
I'd say aswell its due to the rise in price of other classics that push people into looking for other marques. But scrap prices definatly have a very big influance, just in pure scrap value a minor is worth around £300 plus breaking for spares you might get a couple hundred more. It'll only rise to ...

Re: Differential Change
Sorry to hijack your thread but im having the same sort of issue, I've got a 57 2 door with a 1275 marina engine, hif44 carb plus minispeed manifold, type 9 (5 speed)gearbox with what i was told was a 4.22 diff and standars rear axle, oh and 15" mini lights. I always seem to need a gear higher ...

Re: Night runing
Doesnt charging aslo depend on how much you rev the engine, if your only doing a short journey and the engine is only just above tick over then it wont charge much but if you hold it in gear for a bit longer then more excess power is created for charging?
thats my thinking anyway

Re: Xenon HID kits
I dont think there are any kits available to do this but but with enough time and effort im sure something could be done. Not only though do the HID's have to be auto leveling they also have to have the right focus lense (so you cant just swap the bulbs over) plus i think in the uk now you need have...

Re: MMOC Phone App
An App would be great but i think a mobile optimized site would be a better way to go first. A lot of the other forums i go on and a lot of the news website i read are optimized for when viewing on a phone. Most of the ads are removed and most of the bits and pieces that make it look "pretty&qu...

Re: snapped head bolt size?
Well everything is back together and working. Not to bad seeing as though ive never taken an engine apart. drove it to work this morning and all seemed fine, bit flat in 4th but might just need a bit of tuning

Re: snapped head bolt size?
I've got it out to 7.5mm at the moment (5/16 is about 7.9mm) gonna have a rumidge about at work for the right size drill and ive got one of our machining contractors dropping off the taps today, so hopefully but the end of the night i should have it all back together. Re: snapped head bolt size?
Les has got my drift. I know easy out are the devils spawn, broken many off at work, but because the other studs were quite easy to screw out I was hoping the broken one, below the block, was going to be as well. With a small hole plus easy out would not have swollen the thread if it came out easy b...

Re: snapped head bolt size?
feck feck feck. Bloody bolt, well as you can tell it hasn't gone well ive got all of the old studs out, one was exceptionally tight, and then to the broken stud i took. thankfully it drilled well, soaked it in penetrant for a while, warmed it up a bit and tried the easy out. after breaking the tap w...

Re: snapped head bolt size?
It was broken by the previous owner and i purchased the car with the problem. I havnt had an answer back of him as to why he was removing the pipe but from looking on google i can see that some engines have the heater pipe running over the spark plugs and some seem to go into some sort of shut off/f...

Re: snapped head bolt size?
Now i finally have the car and have been able to look at it in the light that pipe has been removed (as for why im not sure yet), so the bolt snapped when he was putting the nut (old not new)(neither was stripped) back on. It has broken 1 thread into the head so i have a broken stud with shaft and t...

Re: snapped head bolt size?
the stud wasnt (as far as in aware) just the nut on the top for the mounting bracket for the copper pipe, something for the brake servo i think.[frame][/frame]
