hi there. had a bit of a go at sanding off with electric sander under the car. half an hour did only a small patch of the car but initial observations look promising. seems that the original underseal or whatever's on there now, is strong stuff and did a good job. this black underseal is a bit hard ...

Cheers. I thought the same looking at them when I pass them sometimes. I think it might be some sort of epoxy/etch mix, strong modern paint without clear lacquer top coat.

hi there. just a quick one. i was looking at newish vespas today and the wheels. they look like they don't have any lacquer on. just this matt silver paint. is that true or would they definitely have been lacquered?

I saw bmc overtake me on the inside lane today, he was shaking his fist at me and shouting something about it not being the coil!! only joking. I didn't see any morris minors today.

looking at that charlie ware pic i can't help thinking that the morris was the big classic that issognis designed and not the mini.

hiya. sometimes with the boot the lock feels like it won't move either way and with a little bit of force it locks/unlocks. have a fiddle about with it.

yea i would second that. i am not changing my seal for a very long time. it seems a very strong piece of rubber. the one i fished out was the wrong size.

simona1, what value did you put on your minor for that price and did they charge for agreed?

once i discovered the oil filter pipe and how well attached it was to the block and the filter housing, i stayed with the original filter too. i used too thin an o-ring the first time round, then got it right in the end. no more leaks.

i just had a thought. is it possible to modify or strengthen up the handbrake sufficiently so it can stop the car quite quickly in the event of a brake fail?

will mgf wheels fit on a saloon axle too?

lol feels like it sometimes, the forth bridge no seriously, most of these cars are still running on original parts. amazing. so good to see them around the place, people enjoying them.

you could get some old oil and cook the breakfast in the oil!
