could be chassic black bmc, is this what moggie hq used back in the day? also, do i have to get all this to bare metal shiny steel silver, is that what you guys do? phew it's hard work! or would you just do that to any failed bits and leave the black on if it's not come off because it's hard to get ...

sanding off underseal, priming and painting questions
hi there. had a bit of a go at sanding off with electric sander under the car. half an hour did only a small patch of the car but initial observations look promising. seems that the original underseal or whatever's on there now, is strong stuff and did a good job. this black underseal is a bit hard ...

Cheers. I thought the same looking at them when I pass them sometimes. I think it might be some sort of epoxy/etch mix, strong modern paint without clear lacquer top coat.

hi there. just a quick one. i was looking at newish vespas today and the wheels. they look like they don't have any lacquer on. just this matt silver paint. is that true or would they definitely have been lacquered?

hiya. sometimes with the boot the lock feels like it won't move either way and with a little bit of force it locks/unlocks. have a fiddle about with it.

yea i would second that. i am not changing my seal for a very long time. it seems a very strong piece of rubber. the one i fished out was the wrong size.

once i discovered the oil filter pipe and how well attached it was to the block and the filter housing, i stayed with the original filter too. i used too thin an o-ring the first time round, then got it right in the end. no more leaks.

i just had a thought. is it possible to modify or strengthen up the handbrake sufficiently so it can stop the car quite quickly in the event of a brake fail?
