well, in fact, there's a metal plate above and below on the fram filters, however you need that spreader filter plate to apply the right pressure to the filter to hold it up properly. in the manual, i don't have those diagrams. also, it says that the concave bit of the plate faces downwards, in the ...

snake oil. even notice how hard it is to get oil off any surface? it sticks and clings to it. i would say there's teflon already in the formulation. the parts when the car starts have to already be coated when the engine starts.

i think it's the bolt, then the rubber washer, through the oil filter bowl, then the spring, then the other big washer with the o ring inside the middle at the top, then the filter plate on top, concave downwards. what do you think?

you top-up because the efficiency of the anti freeze decreases over time. you can get a tool to see the percentage of it. therefore, you drain some off and add anti freeze. then you're bringing the levels and percentages back up to standard. you can always drain the whole thing but it's well establi...

i think they do put a low percentage of alcohol to prevent freezing in those solutions.

it was was leaking from this joint. its coming off for a spin on conversion anyway so I will have a poke around in it then.

stp oil treatment, your opinions?
i was going to dump some of this stuff in with my next oil change. what's your opinions of it? it seems that from what i hear, engines last that little bit longer with it.

take a look at the picture. see the grooves in the moulded casing! It's not there.

hi there. when those of you did an oil filter conversion, did any of you run into difficulties? how about the oil pipe union? the studs getting seized, (the old studs, getting them out). cheers.
