when I first fitted the manifold I did run it unconected to the cooling system. As soon as I plumbed it in there was a marked running improvment especially in cold weather + I can knock the choke off a lot sooner than before

I couldn't decide whether or not to remove the bypass as I made one in my heater piping so I restricted it by cutting the head off a suitably sized bolt & drilling a 1/4" hole down the center then fitting it inside the pipe. The heater pipes return through a heated manifold then to the bott...

Ive got the redrilled marina front hubs on mine they look have a top hat shaped dowel in the original studhole then have been redrilled to minor spacing. I would have thought the same would be possible with the rears if theres enough metal on the hub

I dont know if they have one or not but if its original application was a twin setup the vac take off could have been on the other carb or manifold. You could make a takeoff in the manifold but the vac advance unit was designed to operate from the partial vacuum close to the butterfly as on the SU s...

probably best to get a new bearing kit. the ones on this link have the necessary spacers etc for the minor/marina setup

join the heater pipes together with a short length of copper pipe or similar the coolant will circulate normaly then with the heater bypassed

Im actualy making one good diff out of two faulty diffs one has a gear problem the other has a noisy pinion bearing at least I will have a spare to keep me going if the need arises & most importantly all for minimal expense

I may have worked it out. the manual says the block is the standard thickness of the bearings. I calculated the figures with the original bearings & it all tallys up to the original shims fitted & as bearings are manufactured to very tight tolarances hopfuly wont need any shims Why do it you...

One trick I use with this sort of fault is to wire a bulb in place of the fuse as its shorting it should light the bulb if it goes out after unplugging certain lights or wiggling wires etc that is where the short is likely to be

if you've got a small enough funnel you could remove the breather cap & fill it through that or you could jack the car up on one side remove a halfshaft & poor the oil in there
