Re: Buying a 1950 Morris Minor

North America spec cars were highlight from early 49 on. Providing that the engine is in good condition progress is leisurely but not pitifully slow I would say that you have a bargain. Re: vedette mk2 sidevalve quick question

Try removing the spark plug, squirt a drop of oil on the valve and tap the valve head with the pointy end of a screw driver. Or remove the tappet chest cover and check the spring is correctly seated

Re: Series mm hub and minor 1000 hub

You will need to fit the M1000 swivel pin, hub and brake assembly. Then of course the wheels will be different unless you change the complete rear axle as well.

The headlights and indicator/sidelight units have separate earth cables. Check the bullet connectors where the earth cables join.

See how it goes in 4th which should be the same as top in the Minor box and then decide if the car can handle a 3.9 with the overdrive 5th gear. My guess is that it will be ok as it is

It depends on what the seats are from, Minor seats should fit straight in, anything else will require an adapter base

Re: fitting inicators

The wiring diagram on http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk Technical Information, Trafficator and Indicator Wiring Diagram shows how to use both from the same switch. In addition you can buy flashing bulbs for the trafficators which make them more visible.
