Ok thanks bmcecosse, my next problem is that I think the seal for the front windscreen is kinda crumbling away, how easy is it to take out the front windscreen and put it back replacing the seals?

Engine conversions

Hey,
Thinking about what engine I could put in a modified minor, can anyone please tell me what sort of power/top speed/0-60 etc.. I'd be expecting to get from a 1300 marina/midget or 1.6/2.0 fiat engine?
Thanks
(P.S. I hope that question makes sense, It does in my head!)

It helps if you have the right tools!

Grrr...
Had a crossthreaded bolt on my rear wing that simply wouldn't undo.
just spent 4 hours sawing it off with a tiny swiss army knife metal saw.
...I think I've now got RSI in my arm! :(

Windows

Just a quick question. How hard are the windows to remove/put back in? As I'm gonna be spray painting the car is it worth removing the windows or should I just save myself some work and tape them up?

To be in keeping with the old fashioned styling I've just got an old Bush radio to slot under the dashboard, looks lovely!

Yup the MM series ones are shorter, if you see on the MM traveller photo the bonnet doesn't go all the way up to the doors at the sides whereas the series II and 1000 ones do.

they need DISAPLIN like teh old days I strongly agree that people of my generation (im 16) have been brought up way too softly, whatever happened to discipline? No way is nicking and torching somebodys classic car acceptable by any stretch of the imagination yet if they are caught I bet the it'll j...

Calling Naadeslaus

Just wondering where Naadeslaus is at the moment, haven't heard anything recently, the restoration update in September was amazing so I'd love to hear more on how it's going and see some more pics.
(Seeing how quickly Kim does everything it's probably finished by now!) :D

Hi, I'm in the Northants branch, I'm just a kid so I wouldn't really know what to look for, but, the next Northants branch meeting is on Wednesday 7th, 8pm at the Bell inn, Finedon if you'd like to come along and ask around.

I think the Edsel is regarded as Fords worst failure, they stopped making them after two years as nobody would buy them. Well I spose that makes them rare and collectable then :).

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the old mini estate either called the countryman or traveller (depending on whether it was made of wood), and the clubman was something completely different (square headlights) and not neccessarily an estate. Therefore it seems to me that they've actually named thi...

I've got them on mine, they go on a 2-door or convertable and clip on the inside of the car behind the semaphores, spose they stop water getting to the inside rear quarter panels.

Yup my minor is Yukon grey, slightly darker than Clarendon but quite similar but it was used from 1960-62 so if you want to be original then stick with Clarendon grey.
