Re: Replacing cylinder head

Just a late update. Replacing the cylinder head took care of the blue clouds. Right now the Moggy seems to pollute just as much as a modern Toyota Prius does. A week ago it passed the Swedish MOT with flying colours.

Re: Timing vacuum pipe

Thank you SUE482, Hopefully I'll have time to have a look tomorrow. I am going away for vacation so I might have to get back to this mystery in July. What a shiny result you got there. Beautiful!

Timing vacuum pipe

I just came back from a test drive after having replaced the distributor. Big differance. The old one couldn't be adjusted since it was just about totally stuck to the engine block. Sometimes violence is the best way to solve problems :D Before I did the transplant I did some reading and there is a ...

Re: Wiper motor interchangeable?

I just got the wipers working. It would have taken me a long time to get them working if I had ordered new parts so I decided to try using the brushes from the younger motor. They looked absolutely the same and the motor works perfectly well now. I thought I'd post my discoveries here just in case i...

Wiper motor interchangeable?

I have got the Moggy pretty much ready for the Swedish MOT. Today the wipers stopped moving. I can get them to work as long as I tap on the wiper motor with a little hammer so obviously the motor is the problem. Since I have a wiper motor that was used in a car with tandem wipers I wonder if I can u...

Speedometer pinion colour

Today I am cleaning a gearbox so I can replace the old one which is very hard to shift from second and fourth gears to neutral. While cleaning the "new" gearbox I noticed the nut that holds the speedometer pinion is bright red as a London double decker. Are these nuts colour coded showing ...

Re: Searching for stolen Minors

The only problem I can forsee is, as you mentioned, that after an in initial period of searching you declare it stolen and accept the insurance payout, at which point it becomes the property of the insurance company. If you then find and recover it (by whatever means) would the insurance company si...

Re: my baby is gone :(...and now found!!! yippeeee

Export marker is N. If it had gone through DVLA, would be recorded as Y to inform them not to issue Tax reminders. The export marker must be that N written witha crayon (?) on the windscreen. Am I right? Being a Swede in Sweden I don't know much about how exporting a car from the U.K. works. :o Wou...

Pingis, you're a STAR, a credit in Minor world!! Have you contacted Amy? Thank you for the kind words POMMReg. I don't know about being a star. Amy got her insurance money and the car was recovered so this German seller might be absolutely legit. The reason I posted the link to German ebay was to e...

Re: Searching for stolen Minors

An emotive subject but in answer to the 'what would you do' question, if it were mine and I was sure that I'd spotted it I would find the spare cash to travel and head out there to check it out with whatever documents / photos that I possess to back up my claim should I could find some identifying ...
