Peening Tool?
Hi All,
I was looking at buying a matched lock set for my car but was under the impression you needed to un-peen the boot lock shaft, remove the bell to get to the securing pin for the boot lock barrel..
is there any chance there is a tool that could re-peen the shaft post unpeening?
Cheers,
Tom

Re: Changing boot lock barrel
thank you louise m! so that confirms it.. you need to move the bell housing over the little tabs and then get access to the pins.. i managed to do that but thought i was stuffing up the bell.. i guess what you need to to then is 'squoosh' the bell so that it's held by the little tabs on re-assembly?...

Changing boot lock barrel
Hi Guys,
I bought a boot lock barrel and have the handle off but can't work out how to remove the bell from the boot lock bar to shift the washers up to hammer out the pin!
any advice would be most awesome! as I don't want to wreck the bell pushing down the spring washer!
Thanks
Tom

Re: Remote deadlock central locking!
Hi guys,
alas in australia it is a requirement that with central locking installed you still need to be able to mechanically open the door from the inside.. how would you get around that using this setup? cheers,

Re: door handle removal 4 door
Hi Scott,
by rear channel do you mean the chrome channel closest to the door handle? ie undo the top and side screws and pull that whole channel up and out?
Cheers,
Tom

Re: door handle removal 4 door
This guy has an EXCELLENT article.. (alas i couldn't actually get the handle out of the door) he said to move the window channel slightly to give yourself room.. try as i might i couldn't get enough room to pull the handle out so I think i'll have to undo the entire window channel assembly and pull ...

Re: Replacing Rear Shackle Pin & Bushes
Hi!
Yes yes i am! I wanted to replace those bushes and was looking at the best way to try and do that as I have never touched the torsion bar on a car!
so just wondering if there were hints to changing the bushes or a set of instruction?

Re: Replacing Rear Shackle Pin & Bushes
When looking at this exploded pic..
http://www.morris-minor.co.uk/p238.htm
does that mean i should take off the front of the steel plates and replace the rubbers as from the diagram it looks like the torsion bar feeds in to the back of the rear plate??
cheers.
