On our Traveller the reel is attached to the rear wheel-arch, with the belt passing over the top of the seat, as Alex mentions. It's a bit low for adults but fine for the child seat. The boy was about two and a half when we got the trav, and his seat was a stage 1, I think (Maxi-Cosi Priori, anyway)...

Thanks for that. I've yet to measure how much camber the wheels currently have, but the nearside looks about vertical whereas the offside clearly leans outward at the top of the wheel. I can't see any reason for the difference, either. Time to get out the ruler. I reckon there's about a centimetre o...

Camber adjustment.

I'm aware that the camber of front wheels can be adjusted by adding washers between the eyebolt and the chassis leg. I need to make some adjustments - -particularly as my front wheels have different camber, for some odd reason. What I'd really like to know is this: has anybody worked out the relatio...

I plan to be there will wait till closer to the time to judge the weather for either Sunday or Monday. its only 5 minutes down the road from me ;-) It's not exactly a long way for us, either. It's just that if we book a car in it will cost £7 to get in and if we don't it will cost £18. In case peop...

Hampshire Pageant of Motoring - who's going?

Here's the details: http://www.hpom.co.uk/

We're planning to enter both cars, at least partly as an incentive to get mine finished.

My main reason for asking is wondering if there's any club/branch involvement.

More parts scrounging: anybody got an abutment bracket and spacer for a HIF44? Both are nearly £20 new!

EDIT: Oh, and an early-style heater tap...

BMC - no, I don't have the Ital airbox. I didn't get a standard carb, either - the engine came with a Metro turbo. Peetee - I'm not sure I want a 1098 airbox. A guess you find it OK (and Albert doesn't seem particularly slow) but I can't help thinking that something bigger would be better, especiall...

Some of the mini crowd I've spoken to say that if you use the round box you can improve airflow by drilling a series of holes around it (often find them like this in auto jumble piles). Modified like this With a K&N filter inside its not said to be any less efficient than a cone filter and defi...

I wouldn't say it's a big engine (Ital A+) but it left the factory with a HIF44 so that's what I'm using.

mini airbox works well for me with a K&N element, but the intake points backwards so only draws air from the back of the engine bay. Mine is modified to draw cooler air from the front.... new section cut out at the 'front' and the pipe cut and re-glued here with the old hole having a piece of p...

Air filters...

I'm looking for the cheapest way to get a decent air filter that doesn't make too much noise, to attach to a HIF44. However, I need to do this pretty quickly so stuff I can go out and buy/order is better than waiting for long auctions or picking through scrappies. People have mentioned using a Mini ...

I don't know if I'll be able to make those, they're at least 35 miles for me. That's a long way on a school-night.

I'll see how things are on thursday but I may need those two gallons of petrol before payday.

Rustbuster (they who sell Dinitrol) have tank cleaners and sealers. Pour it in, slosh it about, pour out the excess and leave it to dry for 24 hours.

The angle from the filler neck to the tank is steeper on the Trav than the saloon.

At least, it looks that way to me and I find filling the Trav easier than filling the saloon.

I find the traveller less prone to this than the saloon - it looks to me as though the filler is steeper than in the saloon.

I just run the petrol pump a little slower. It doesn't take much more time and avoids petrol on my shoes.

looks like the seam on the tank is giving up so Noah leaks when over 3/4 full (no drips after I had driven home) I remember having that on the family Marina. When we sold it circa 1982 my dad had to make sure it never had more than two gallons in the tank... btw, seen this? http://www.morrisminoroc...

We also won a Beanie Baby iguana in the raffle :-)
