Re: What do you want me to tell you?

Vehicle in question on ebay a few months ago, 1958 2dr, I noted at the time - with the later wiper mtr bkt, NO dreaded LRBM & new (slotted) screws affixing chassis plate - to say the least, a bit suspect....usual "valuable regn" in the description too. I DO rant on and on about checkin...

What do you want me to tell you?

I receive quite a few enquires requesting info on Minor's, id checks, whether 7original engine fitted blah blah... Recently had one where the vehicle was obviously a tad dubious, looked it up, nothing matched. Told the owner my findings & he became angry at ME, I'm hardly going to say it's perfe...

Re: Can any one help with the history of my car?

No entry for Morris on modern manufacturers search lists, put on nearest with that sized engine.

Although why its been changed?

Re: "Barn Find"

There must be hundreds of Minors out there with mismatched numbers, that continue to exist. Who do you report any of this to, and to what end. Like an old broom—— 4 new handles, 3 new brushes. I suppose you could start a booklet of naughty numbers Chris. :D I DO list stolen vehicles on the database...

Re: "Barn Find"

I DO bang on about "numbers" but it can be SO handy in some cases... Recent Minor to crop up being a S11, whilst regn is on DVLA site as currently taxed & tested, however the REAL Minor the regn came from - confirmed by original vin, body & engine plates - has been uncovered. Stres...

Re: "Barn Find"

HPH 125K now downunder....

Bearing in mind HPH 121-125K were all Austin Minor vans, something amiss🤣

Please, ALWAYS check the "id numbers" when buying!

Cowley = "M/AT5 124xxxx M"

Abingdon builds = MAW5/

Only "-" stamped used on 1970 + LCVs to about 6/70 on Hm.Mkt. when it was chassis plate colour...Zzzzzz

Re: First Minor. Daily drive - winter advice request

hot water bottle balanced on the dash 1/2 hr before starting off worked quite well too

You'll need something like a flattened crisp box between bottom of screen & steering wheel to wedge bottle

T 72111 (T reversed punched)

Would you please msg me g/box & r/axle nos, date stamped into wiper mtr too?

Thanks

Re: Latest Convertible?

Another way to judge build date is by the engine, export 10ME's were fitted from 3/69, which was the turning point from the long standing 10MA & new "plastic breather pipe" in 4/69 10V/189E.

All very boring....Zzzzzz😴🥱

Re: Latest Convertible?

Last 5 probably hidden by the self tapper, common on LCVs 1970 onwards when body code was also stamped. For example, the LAST 2dr doesn't have the highest recorded body number - dependent on when the vehicle was built - technically, not the last bodyshell, but was the last 2dr assembled. I would gue...

Re: Latest Convertible?

Think Z32743 convertible bodycode ran from c8/68 to c3/69....when it was replaced by the Z34822/Z36056 code, info from "old" book. 2nd number prefixed by rear punched "T", number will be 7xxxx - poss late 71xxx or early 72xxx(?) - not sure of last, surprised if Convertibles broke...
