Called "Hispano" threads by one clever chap I met. If reeeealy stuck for nuts and bolts, I found a pile of very dead SV engines at the Bovingdon Tank Museum some years ago. Curator was called Steve Latham (IIRC)

If anyone wants to try an aircooled engine (flat4) in a Minor then I have a 4 litre new engine here in the garage. Makes about 130hp at 2800rpm and maybe up to about 200+ at 4500rpm.

NGK make sparkplugs. Champion make good fishing weights (IMHO, but have never tried anything other than NGK in my own cars) If using copper leads instead of carbon cored leads then you need a 5000 ohm resistance in the line between dissy cap and plug tip. Either use an in-line resistor, a 5k ohm plu...

Revcounter marked RVC uses capacitance to trigger it. RVI uses inductance. RVC need earth, power feed (green) in and a conection to the coil neg (if neg earth or CB: usually wite/black in Lucas BSAu wiring) whereas the RVI uses a pair of wires from the coil that go from the coil through the dissy an...

Who sells them? It is the only chrome part I haven't got as a new item. I did look at making one from scratch in stainless.

I was looking at the reverse option: Refitting an MM roof to an MM convertible as a removable hardtop. Does anyone still market the conv kit to chop a roof off? Not sure how it goes together and what parts are available. I've got that S2 conv shell that I might chop the screen top off unless I can f...

ooops, 'clicked send' too early.

Paul. You may get away with solo flying, particularly if you change your plans and build an SSDR plane in the 115kg category. Google for ssdr + PFA.

G-BMMF. Group A aircraft. Does 100mph in a dive and cruises at about 75 mph. It can cruise even faster backwards behind a Ford Mondeo! 65hp@3300rpm VW engine with Mondeo igntition (dual spark), a Triumph Spit carb and all handmade silencer system. http://s82.photobucket.com/albums/j279/foggythomas/?...

Hmmmm. Actually makes quite a good towing car. I now have an esay excuse to drive along at 30mph. The stability is less than our Mondeo due to te soft Morris springs. Wobbles a bit! Rear visibility is pretty poor so I need a couple of those quaterlight mirrors. Being so long, the main undercarriege ...

On my sprite I had some probs when the nipple on the end of the fuel line, where it screws into the tank, wasn't sealing and so would suck in air at high rpm. Tighten the nipple or put BLU-TAC on it? It sets solid after being exposed to fuel (or at least it always used to) Great as a temporary sealer.

Just a thought but in the Midget the cylinder sits up at an angle with the pipes uppermost. Might there be air trapped in there? I'm assuming you have the type that was used before the mid 60s? Again, thinking out loud....have you ensured that the feed from the reservoir is large enough so that ther...

Is there an actual aim in collating this info? Looking to find tips, sources of spares, photos, curiosity or some thing else?

Had a quick measure and apart from a lack of inset for the backplates, Hillman Imp front brakes look to be a good fit. Same stud pattern for the wheelnuts as 1098 Minor.

Does anyone have some of the adaptor plates for using Midget discs on a Minor?

Only SLIGHTLY off topic.
