Re: Too high or too low
Setting ride height can be a tricky one, I tried to lower my vans ride height a little bit a few years ago and this is how it ended up.. Think I might have over adjusted it..... that along with the 2" drop spindles, the 4 bar rear end and the Hydraulics, BTW it’s not a photo shopped picture, it...

Re: Front inner wing / Dome panel
In my experience its very rare that you need to replace the whole panel as often its only the flat face that joins the inner wing / A post and the bottom 1" where it joins the sill top that's rusted through, so normally I just replace those two sections, if these repairs are let into the origin...

Re: 2 MOT or not 2 MOT
So todays little Jem Morris came in for a service and a few odd jobs, there was no mention of the battery from the owner, but well.... yes that really is two pieces of twig holding the battery away from the bulkhead, the reason it appears is because theres no more thread to allow the clamp to tighte...

2 MOT or not 2 MOT
Had this very clean looking little 4 door come in a couple of weeks ago for us to look at, The owner said it didn’t feel right when he was on the M25.. And it didn’t stop very well, I think the pictures tell it all. Both rear cylinders were leaking although only one is shown here, He doesn't MOT the...

Re: Too much pressure from new fuel pump.
If the pump is new and the correct SU pump for a Morris and you are sure it's producing to much pressure I would be talking to your supplier or burlin fuel, rather than trying to get round the issue. as it's possibly a fault with the pump and fuel leaks and cars are really not a safe mix.

Re: A very slow build of a custom traveller
I've used several MX5s over years as donor's so not the first one I've dissected and probably won't be the last, They also make great track toys, I've built several for track including turbo and supercharged versions, So while I like them for what they can offer i.e Good reliable mechanics that are ...

Re: A very slow build of a custom traveller
Made a start on stripping the MX5 down, the first part is dead easy, remove all the outer panels, strip the interior, remove the Hood, strip the boot area etc, and don’t cut any wiring, being sort of modern everything on the MX is on plugs, yippee no more bullet connectors and green wires….. So rela...

Re: A very slow build of a custom traveller
I realise this is a bit premature, probably by about two years .. but a small purchase towards the project, a new, well new second hand steering wheel, I don’t like three spoke steering wheels, I don’t find them comfortable, and as you can see the MX came with a three spoke, but I found this on good...

Re: A very slow build of a custom traveller
So after a very long time of not posting anything about my traveller I thought an update was in order, the lack of posts has mainly been due to the amount of work we’ve had on. Hence lack of time to progress with the traveller. But also because of a slight change of plan, oh no I hear you all cry, a...

Re: Tie down points on Morris Traveller
Straps should always be around the wheels not body/chassis. if you strap the body/chassis the straps will become loose and tight as the vehicle bounces up and down on the journey, Note, you need one strap per wheel, if you only run 2 or 3 straps you can get in trouble for an insecure load, unless yo...
