Sorted. For anyone else fitting this type of tacho the wiring is:-
Brown - Earth (negative)
Purple - Positive feed
Green - LT pulse from dizzy side of coil.

Thanks for the reply Theo. How does the plate holding the gauges actually attach to the outer trim panel?

Re: Another Tacho Question
Thanks Mike, that's another option and it looks great but I do like the look of a flat insert painted body colour. Anyone got any idea on the wiring side of things?

Another Tacho Question
I'm doing a similar job to Theo_NL in fitting some auxiliary gauges in front of the drivers side glove box. I've got a Jaeger Electronique tacho I'd like to fit alongside the oil pressure, water temp and ammeter but I'm unsure how to wire it up, for info the car has been converted to negative earth....

Re: antifreeze
If it's ready to use that would suggest it's already diluted, does it say what temperature it protects down to? To use it you would need to drain the whole cooling system and heater then re-fill with the product. Personally I would buy the concentrate and put 50% water/antifreeze mix in - get the bl...

Re: Completely lost timing.
It sounds like it's out 180 degree, I managed to do this on my Commer engine re-build and had the same symptoms , ended up twisting the dizzy right round to get it running. Give that a go and if it works then you can work from there in setting it all up properly.

Re: Hello From Me and Ted
I thought I would need a new exhaust soon, well the coke can repair didn't last as long as I hoped  http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t309/panky_2007/Ted/20150127_161349.jpg So now I have an 1 1/2" bore 'performance' system from David Manners. Unfortunately it's meant to mate with a Mari...

Re: Morris Minor problems
Double check the needle valve, use a pair of pliers to gently pull the pin out that holds the float on and drop the needle valve out to check for blockages, I'm suggesting this as I has the exact symptoms and I did find a bit of crud on the valve seat. The filters can also create a problem as they c...

Re: Morris Minor problems
Sounds like you've inherited someone else's lack of maintenance  It wont be the radio more than likely a bit of fuel starvation, take the top off the float chamber and have a look inside for debris and clean it out, then check the needle valve to see if it's partially blocked. Have someone insi...
