Hi,
Can you post up a picture? Registration??
Someone may be looking for it, it may be that it's one from the stolen section on here.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Minor restoration (underwear pics)
Very nice :D , don't forget the waxoil to ensure it stays in good condition. Dont ruin it by using it on the road. What's the point of owning a nice car if you don't get any pleasure out of it by using it! It's not all about how much financial return you get when you sell it, not to real classic ca...

Hi,
That really is lovely. Nice to see one in Maroon B as well, instead of the usual white!
Hope you're not going to be afraid to drive her now......
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: 1962 / A reg bootlid style pic please
Yes, mine has the rubber clip / retainer for the boot prop when it's not in use, plus six holes for 'Minor' and '1000' below it.
The retaining rubbers were available from ESM, everyone does the badges.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: gearbox
Hi,
It should be a four speed box as standard unless someone's been messing with it.....
Sounds more like you might have a knackered gearbox though and he may have been trying to pull the wool over your eyes by saying it was three speed.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Splitscreen Red PO van replaced by Blue Austin van
My guess is he probably had a couple available, the red one being a split screen (and ex-Post Office??) would have more appeal, so probably has now sold privately - or he was made an offer after someone saw it on eBay, that he couldn't refuse. So he has substituted the blue one......... ..............

Re: 1962 / A reg bootlid style pic please
Thanks, I was thinking the same about yours, is that Clarendon grey? I think the outer skin / framework pressing underneath are the same on 1000's, they just swapped to a telescopic support on the opposite side of the boot and changed the sealing rubber to one that was stuck around the edge of the ...

Worth noting, however the ones I'm talking about here came from the Morris Minor Centre Birmingham (David Manners), I shall inquire what they are made of with them.............

Re: Steering rack gaiters
Thanks for that, I've saved them in 'my favourites', though hopefully I won't be needing them too soon....time will tell...... As an aside one of my original boots doesn't seem to be split, though I shall examine it more closely later, as there was a leak on both sides, these came with the replacem...

Hi, There seem to be lots of arguments for and against, plus allot on here seem to think that as long as you are only doing gentle local runs you don't need anything........ But who wants to be limited to gentle local runs!! 8) I'd say use it as is until your engine needs work anyway, then invest i...

Re: 1962 / A reg bootlid style pic please
Here is the underside of the boot lid for you - excuse wax-oil runs and obvious black sealer, I was being over protective as this is my repaired (ex-spare) boot lid and this is all normally out of sight. My slightly rustier original awaits its turn........ Best wishes, Mike. [frame] http://mmoc.org...

Steering rack gaiters
Hi, I've just replaced mine (along with my track rod ends) and I notice that the new ones seem to be of considerably softer (thinner?) rubber than the last ones I bought (I still have an unused good one to compare the latest ones against - it seems thicker / less pliable / tougher), anyway I've fit...

Hi Pete,
I've attached a photo of the outside for you, I don't have an inside shot at present but I can soon take one if no one else has one for you. I'll check back tomorrow.
Best wishes,
Mike.[frame][/frame]

Re: transitional minor
Hi and welcome, History is interesting. I myself have a dual personality car, which I have sympathetically modified, as I use it as my every day car. 1275 midget engine, 5 speed box, vented discs etc. but all of which could be unbolted and reversed. I have opted to keep the standard wheels and seat...

Re: How Much !!!
It is a lovely car but £10 grand for a two door with rusty wheels is a joke!
Some dealerships prices are just way out there in cloud cuckoo land and not just for Minors.
Makes you wonder just how long some of them will sit on cars that don't sell because they're so over priced!

Re: Traveller Restoration
Not so fast! They are NOT sealed beam, they are BPF (British pre-Focus) units. Sealed beam units are all glass and cannot be dismantled. BPF units were used throughout the fifties and sixties on almost everything and were then replaced by sealed beams in the late sixties. They are very similar and ...
