Oh dear, good job you were on the ball.
You can buy a post that retracts into the ground, not cheap and you have to dig a deep hole and refill with concrete. No way they will get passed it without a petrol disc cutter but you will hear that no problem and it takes some time too.

Not sure if you can get marine ply thin enough but you would still have to treat it anyway I think. If the clips would not be a problem with the card being a bit thicker I would go with hardboard it's a lot easier to work with.samuria wrote:thanks amgrave,

I did what you are thinking about using hardboard some years ago for an Escort mk1. It was easy to work with but it was a little thicker than original so made it hard work fitting the clips in place. You would need to waterproof the backs too, I painted mine with some left over gloss paint. Finished...
