Will try to dig out the photos later.

Re: Electronic ignition worthwhile?

From what I've read EFI'ing an A series is not easy , as the four cylinders have two shared ports....yes BL did it in the end...just before production ceased but do you know of any after-markets kits for the A series?

Re: Electronic ignition worthwhile?

I'd swear by the old " add-on " Sparkrite systems , ( well I wouldn't swear by it , as it NEVER let me down ) , just clip onto the coil ( or fit elsewhere )...there was a three-way switch ( Off-Conventional-Electronic ) and a little lamp , which acts as a timing light. Excellent bit of kit...

This is where the Forum fails , I bet there are plenty of people reading this who are capable , and some probably just live round the corner from you , who would be pleased to come and fix it with you...

" RE torquing. Yes, Absolutely did! To 45ft lbs (I believe) in the sequence as per the manual. I bought a torque wrench especially :D "

Does that mean you re-torqued the head bolts after the first heat-cycle?

Re: Fuel gauge problem

" with the speedo out and propped up in the aperture while I checked the blower, I saw a slight wisp of smoke " IMHO you've smoked the fuel gauge , the case should be properly earthed for it to function correctly , and I may be corrected here , and hope I am , but If you apply 12Volts and ...
