Yep that's the one. I can relate to the comment about the TA gearbox, I drove a T A once and remember it as having the worst gearbox I have ever experienced. There may have been some synchros in there some where but I never managed to find them!

Those interested in this topic should check out a TV series called Bush Mechanics . You can find it on YouTube and demonstrates such useful skills as converting a screen washer into a fuel pump, and hand carving a clutch throwout bearing out of hardwood, to name just 2 of many.

Thanks Phil. After looking at the Moss diagram I am pretty sure I don't have the Nylon cup or spring.haven't had time to look today but will do so Asap. In the meantime I have organised a second-hand cup and spring from a local sprite specialist . Fingers crossed and I'll report back

With reference to the very helpful moss diagram posted by Phil the Hill where does the pedal return spring, item 40 attach ? It seems to be missing from my 1960 car. The clutch arm spring, item 77 is in place, but isn't strong enough to pull the pedal up against the floor. Cheers John G

I did this to my 1960.didnt change the back plate or flywheel/clutch just bolted it up and so far it works fine. I am told there may be an issue with the longer input shaft which can foul on the bottom of the crankshaft hole but so far this is not an issue and I don’t see why the shaft could not jus...
