Puddles

It has started..... I decided to take the long weekend to start the 'getting back on the road' bit of our Traveler restoration. Other bits will include the application of an alternator and 'modern front seats'.... Back to the job in hand... To get a decent idea of what is required I tipped her, afte...

Tipping a Traveller

Now the weather has broken it seems the time is right to start on the ‘light’ work that’s required to get the Traveller on the road again. It need a little under floor welding, namely around the drivers side rear spring hanger and the front chassis legs. To assist me in this work I acquired a tippin...

Re: Morris Minor's on Google Street View

My Spitfire's on it, in the drive. Makes a difference seeing it with the roof down and not the bonnet up... :-? The nice green 2 door that lives up the road is on the maps but I'm not sure about puting up pictures of it as it's not mine. Can't see my 2 door anywhere, probably in the garage....[frame...

The convertible in the picture is a standard, the lack of over-riders on the bumper give it away, although a different bumper could have been used if the original got damaged at sometime. The other thing about the convertible is the D reg plate, it hints that the car is older than the body would sug...

The beauty of that gauge is - that it's NOT electronic! I stand corrected, but why would the supplier only supply one connecting pipe when two are required..?? I'm guessing it's something to do with the temperature gauge bit being fixed to the back of the dial while the oil is a removable fitting. ...

That looks like the twin gauge out of an MGBGT. If it is I have a strong feeling that the pipe is for the oil pressure, which will need a T piece and pluming in to get working, as the temperature bit is electronic. If that's the case you'll need a temperature sender and wiring to get that part of th...

I've had wing mirrors before and found them troublesome to adjust when on your own, and Mike said. When I fitted new wings I opted for quaterlight mounted ones to reduce the chance of any rust around the holes I'd just drilled in my nice wings. I've found that the field of vision in either is pretty...

Just get a set of Metrinch sockets and spanners.... best present I ever got, love it and use it every time I work on the car.. One spanner for BSF, UNF and metric and they turn on the flats of the bolt so are less likely to slip...... I have to admit to having a set of Halfords ratchet spanners, the...

The one on the ground under the FWD is a 1300 Dolly, about as close as it gets to a Toledo here.

love the Renner 12 (?) next to the toledo - amazing how the headlight holes have survived - maybe they weren't such rust buckets after all! Take a closer look at this photo from a different part of the yard... How many Renaults are there..???? <img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2680/4153...

That looks doable and means I don't have to remove my gearbox to replace the remote selector.... All I need to do know is find the micro switches I have laying around somewhere...... I know the single light is a bit limiting but I've found the double ones on my Spitfire to be adequate to see me into...

Reversing Lights....

After nearly being rear ended by a few moderns in car parks because I've not got any reversing lights I feel that this may be a useful upgrade. I want to make it look good and work automatically so I’m thinking of using bits from a Midget, which I’ve checked are available from a local MG specialist....

I thought that but it turned out to be the bearing seal. Not overly time consuming and they come as a kit with new rubbers, gaskets and bearing.
