Matt is likely to be more of an expert on this one though, considering some of the stuff he's played with...

Brake Cylinders
I've got myself in a bit of a confusion. Its been ages since I played with the brake cylinders and was labouring under the aprehension that they were all the same. Visiting ESM's site there are both L/H and R/H listed - and I am sure this is a very silly question indeed but which one do I need?? Kna...

Sidelight and headlight problems...
OK, so on Friday (having passed the MOT that morning) my sidelights failed, in the dark. Roadside diagnosis was that the wire running into the inline fuse had snapped. As a get home bodge, I wired the sidelights directly onto the battery side of the Solenoid and all was good. Having tried to fix the...

Re: Genuine low mileage cars
My gut is that 4.5k is a little on the steep side but not massively out of the ballpark with the euro being relatively strong to the pound at the moment the italian chap may well think he's got a bargain on his hands. please correct me if I'm wrong lindores, (going on from BMCE's point) but I read i...

To check whether it has been converted to unleaded you have to take the cylinder head off. And even then its hard to explain exactly what to look for.... Not really worth doing just to check

I think thats a bit unfair Roy. Last time I rang the DVLA I got through to a real person after only a few seconds.

Re: Morris Minor Help Again Please
Hi Scot,
I've edited the title, to make it a little more meaningful.
My gut reaction is to check the plug on the top of the dipswitch.
When you are on full beam do the sidelights stay on?

Re: Date of Registration Query?
Entirely possible that it was off the road when the DVLA computerised and as such "dissapeared" and then registered when it was restored and put back on the road. Something to ask about, but not something to worry about too much IMO. There is also the possibility that its an import

Re: HELP - BUYING FIRST MORRIS, ADVICE APPRECIATED
Hi AJ, there are many of us who are willing to do a prelim viewing to ascertain whether a journey is worthwhile - might save you some time.
It should only be seen as a check whether the car is worth actually coming to see though and you shouldn't base your descision to purchase on it...

Re: Boot Lock
Guess what I broke at the weekend?
Boot handle is now 90 degrees off where it should be, still locks and unlocks though (although you can only remove the key in the locked position)

IMO, the best thing that you can do to improve the handling is to make sure that the suspension is uptogether and behaving as it should be. I've always found the minor to have fab handling when its in good fettle.
