Yes this stage has been a long time coming .

still a long way to go but Im glad I got movement forward.

I got the wood from Steve and Tim Forman at Woodies.

They took the time to get the outter graining just perfect....A long wait but well worth it for the quality and fit.

Base preserver/weak stain coat on , Now a few weeks preserving and staining, I will give it three days to dry in between treatments this will allow me to finish painting the panels. Im hoping to end up with a nice light oak colour 1.jpg The second coat starting to bring the grain out nicely 2.JPG

new order now with ESM [rear wing and misc.] Still got panel probs unresolved with Bull Motif.

However a whole new phase opened with preserving and staining the wood
Slowly a whole room filling up with parts

I have found it a bit expencive but so far worth it .
The technical help side needs a bit more moderation but on the whole it seems a worthwhile membership money wise.

It would need to expand somewhat to keep up with other sites but Im sure it could.

If no panel shows up I will be cutting the one I have. I sometimes set myself unrealistic goals but thats how I get the work done. This weekend was going to be all about painting the panels ,its not the end of the world just a real shame not to get to where I wanted to get to by the end of the weeke...

Yes if would if it was a normal hole ,this hole is an oval shape and is probably laser cut into the panel.

Bull Motif now tell me I might get a useable panel on tuesday ....

I have found that the critical area is the hub that the drum sits on . having said that all [new] drums these days should be trued up before fitting the same that new shoes should be champfered to fit ..there are no origianal parts anymore to be had so the pattern parts need this extra work .

Well I have posed this to them ....Its kinda holding up my progress now ...Ill let you know how this ends up . what I do know is I need a proper panel.
