At the national last year a guy was looking at my car and said he had just spent £5.00 short of 20k on restoring his van. I remember being quite shocked but it was his money and his van and if he gets pleasure from it I say good luck to him.

Welcome to the site, not the best start to ownership by the sound of it. I’m sure things will get better and you will enjoy owning a minor, there are lots of people on here who will give you any advice you need to keep your car on the road.

It might just be that Halfords still had stock of the correct tinters . Most specialist bodyshops will mix to spec but can only use the tinters that are now available, the same goes for 2K . The celly and 2K markets are shrinking quickly and most bodyshop paint suppliers will no longer stock new ti...

free entrance is probably unreasonable to expect given organisation, insurance, site rental and other costs. But I would expect a low fee for cars and something for public on a per head basis. Reasonable fee to me would be around 1 to 5 pounds for a car (and no charge for occupants) with public cha...

The increasing costs of exhibiting your vehicle.

I have just downloaded a form to show my car at an event aimed at raising money for a number of charities. The form asks for £5.00 per car plus £3.50 for each passenger just to display if paid in advance. On the day it is £15.00 per car plus £3.50 per passenger, public entry is £5.00 per person. The...

I use Autoaid which is a claim back insurance policy, for £36.00 a year it covers you and a partner not the cars so there is no car age limit. If you breakdown you ring the number and they send out one of their approved repair / recovery people. You have to pay the bill and claim the cost back from ...
