The main place I hang out is www.userfriendly.org, and there are very strict rules about what is allowed: no swearing or flames, basically encapsulated in the "Fourteen-Year-Old Sister" Rule that says nothing shall be posted that you wouldn't want your hypothetical sister to see. Ever sinc...

I knew his real name, but in other forums I inhabit it's a total no-no to use somebody's real name online. I didn't know about here, so I didn't use it.

Can't remember his screen name, it's the registration of his first Mog.

He's based between Ringwood and Bournemouth, has about 12 Mogs of which two move under their own power ;-), one is the pickup and the other is a lowlight. Enough clues?

I want to turn the engine to set the points clearance. The person who told me about doing that talked about using the starting handle, and I didn't know I could use the bolt already there. I don't think I have a bar long enough, I'll have to check. If I haven't I'll put on the starter bolt. Actually...

Since I assume it's not going to foul anything, is there any reason to take it off again?

This week's mystery object...

OK, what is this: Clicky I think it might be what the crank handle is supposed to engage in, but when I look through the hole in the bumper there's already a bolt where this object might go. If I undo the bolt that's there can I just replace it with the mystery object? What is going to fall apart if...

That's the one. I'm the third generation in the family to support them, and hopefully my son will be the fourth.

And it all starts up again this weekend...

Are you around tomorrow evening?

It logged me out, maybe trying to tell me something :-)

Our car will be leaving outside permanently, but with a cover for any times when it's left unused for more than a couple of days. I've been making notes comparing the cars I've seen, and the reason for asking the question was to build in to our budget any time and effort needed to apply the optimum ...

To varnish or not to varnish,

That is the question. Whether t'is nobler to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous varnish fumes or use some sort of teak or related oil. I've heard both opinions on this forum but I haven't heard the reasons behind the opinions. What are they? I've been hanging around here long enough to reali...

I have to confess to thinking that Minors are quite nice, and that's about it. Wifey is the true obsessive, she's wanted a green traveller since her teacher in primary school gave a her a lift in one 25 years ago. My particular obsession is Caterhams, but the entry costs of ownership are rather high...
