Re: Metal parcel shelf
Fortunately my present Minor is water tight but my previous vehicle which was a Series 2 had a leaking heater which disintegrated and dissolved the parcel shelf. I was more dissatisfied with the overall quality and lack of rigidity in the one supplied recently.

Re: Metal parcel shelf
Further to my condemnation of the overpriced, water soluble parcel shelf I recently tried in vain to fit, I have consigned it to the recycling bin after using most of it as a template on a sheet of 4mm plywood. I drilled all the holes and apertures and then covered it with black leather look vinyl. ...

Re: Moving Front Seat Back
My car was originally fitted with sliding seats that were uncomfortable so I fitted standard seats with rear height adjusters, much better! See my other post Bogus Seats for details.

Re: Moving Front Seat Back
I found that even with the seat tube clamps fitted to the rear most holes I still needed to move the seats back. I repositioned the clamps with their front holes bolted into the rear most threaded floor holes then drilled the floor through the rear clamp holes and fitted bolts from under the car wit...

Re: Goldseal fan belt
I ordered a belt from ESM listed for a 1098cc engine with alternator conversion. Maked as 825mm it would not fit over the pulley with the alternator slackened right off. Ordered two more belts from a Mini specialist at 838mm which fitted perfectly so I guess the alternator conversion on Willum may b...

Re: Oil pressure reading too high?
The oil pressure relief valve is located further down the block just forward of the distributor.
It can be easily identified as a large domed nut.
The valve should open at 60psi but could be the source of your problem if it is seized shut.

Re: Reverse light
Willum has twin 1960s reversing lamps powered from a switch on the dash with a red warning light. As previously mentioned it is very useful for reversing into the carport after dark!

Re: Water Leak
Could be a radiator leak but check all hose connectors, thermostat housing etc.from the top down.
If you're getting a drip every 10 seconds it should be easy to spot.

Re: Hyperactive throttle.
Screw not adjusting the throttle speed- this will probably mean the cable needs adjusting. THe cable legnth is too short as secured. It might be that the outer is not seated properly Finally got around to close inspection of the carburettor and controls now I've retired! Discovered that the acceler...

Re: Insurance (17 Year Old)
Looks like insurance firrms haven't changed since I was 17! I was charged Β£60 in 1973 for third party only cover. This meant I could sit in the car outside the house but couldn't drive it! Mind you the car was an ex police 3 litre straight six Wolseley 6/99 with overdrive and I did drive it to it's ...

Re: Oil filter housing leak.
I agree, had the same problem with Willum's original filter. Even the restoration guys could not stop the leak so we fitted a spin on conversion kit. Only one part to undo (the filter itself) and totally leak free.

Re: Metal parcel shelf
I'm actually considering removing the shelf altogether. It's a pig to get it to fit neatly and really serves no purpose in my car other than to restrict access to the nether regions of the dashboard and associated wiring. As mentioned above you only need to breathe on the damned thing and it starts ...

I don't mind being called out for a tongue in cheek observation.
So often the original enquiry gets lost in "Irrelevant Twaddle" and I'm afraid I find it very amusing and am sometimes prompted to tweak the noses of the humour bypass brigade!.................Only Kidding?
