Re: Nice V8 Hot Rod minor on Ebay

The red 4.2 one that was just pulled again was previously listed by a chap on IoW a fortnight ago but was pulled before the auction completed. Seemingly one no-one on the 'other side' knew about either. Sadly out my budget or it would be on my drive already. The bronze 4.6 was sold earlier this year...

Re: Techy twerp

As an IT engineer, my golden rule is always multiple redundancy. Never rely on a single point of failure. You should always plan for failure! Sadly senior management always begrudge the few extra pennies. And then blame the staff on the front line when the failure we warned them about bites them on ...

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

Sounds like your security is fine, your ISP may be the weak link. Also, does anyone else share your broadband? Are they protected as thoroughly?

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

As an IT tech I thought I'd offer my two-penneth. I've been using the same email for ages and don't get these. I do, however, have industrial strength security on my laptop. I use commercial antivirus plus anti-spyware software. I don't save passwords locally either, and history and cookies are clea...

Re: Brake issues

First guesses would be either sticking brake cylinders or contaminated linings, if the adjusters are all set correctly

"Disability Minors were built in the late 1950s and into the Sixties. Disabled Minors were built after the Minor 1000 was introduced in 1956, but had may things in common with the earlier series 2 models. Early disabled Minors were fitted with 803scc engines with series 2 badges but with the si...

Re: for sale ...immaculate condition ££££ spent

Like the recent advert where the seller described a 56 having a rare 1098cc fitted from new... words fail me, he even wouldn't amend the advert despite multiple people telling him the 1098 wasn't even made before 1962. Never buy from anyone who has no product knowledge.

Re: 1959 split screen??

I had a good look at this and it's a curious one. Lots of later stuff on it. I did wonder if it was a hybrid from two cars, which is why I didn't bid. However, at the price you paid, a bargain, especially if you are modding it.

Re: Petrol 95 or 97?

I used to treat my 55 to 5 star, as he ran really well on it with the timing slightly advanced. Happy days. I was tempted to try adding nitromethane from the local model shop to a tank of fuel, as I knew the guy who worked there. Probably just as well I didn't.

dodgy account

There's someone posting russian text in the Cars for Sale - having translated it, it's junk about russian dating and other non-Morris stuff. Can this be blocked?

Re: Another unkown part

That looks a lot like asbestos to me, and in that condition it could well be giving off fibres if moved. Wear a dust mask and bag them up securely until you have a positive ID for these parts.
