Re: This Europe referendum malarkey
The big problem in both the UK and the US is a complete lack of any decent candidates to vote for. As Gore Vidal wisely said 'Anyone who is wants to run for president should automatically be disqualified from ever doing so.' Same applies to the PM role in the UK

Re: Franchised Dealers.
Main dealers are almost all rip-off merchants. That's why I use a local trusted independent, biggest bill I ever had on a car was just over £500 and that was for a water pump on a Celica GT-Four. Half of that was parts and just over a full days labour. A beast of a job as well. I'd never buy a new c...

Re: This Europe referendum malarkey
The UK will thrive if we leave, Made in Britain will become a badge of pride for sellers. It amazes me that no government of any flavour has revived the Buy British campaign that was popular when 'ahem' most of us were young. Without the UK the Euro will probably collapse, Sterling will remain stron...

Re: Dubious age cars for sale
However you look at it, transferring a vehicles ID from one shell to another is a criminal offence, especially if done for profit. Knowingly selling a vehicle with such identity is also an offence. Seems some traders think it doesn't apply to them. A MOT exempt car which is actually a much later mod...

I'm going to put a heavy duty locking steel post in front of my parking bay and a hidden PIR sensor. It's taking me a long time to find the car I seek, and once found no twonk is going to help themselves to it

The blue one is a real bitsa - engine bay is a later model for sure. The convertible also has too many discrepancies. Parts cars only if it were me. Neither is early 50s.

That's what I wondered. My real target is a modified 2 door split screen, but they're in very short supply! I think distance will probably stop me bidding on this one.

Re: Security
Back in the 80's I'd remove certain easily accessible component and stick in my pocket. Mainly because the door lock could be opened with any flat bladed object! When I finally find the Minor I'm seeking, I will go more high tech. And still remove that same component.

Re: Professional car reviewers
I have had a number of Cavaliers, and good cars they were too, but Jezzer was 100% right about the Vectra. Vauxhall took all the good points from the Cavalier and binned them. I drove one and it was one of the most evil handling cars I have ever driven, terminal understeer as charged. Always try dri...

Re: My Morris minor v8
I'll have a look through my 1970s CC mag stash. I went to a couple of CC shows back then so I may have seen it in the flesh back then. It looks well in the red scheme, the original paint was very much 'of it's time'. Now I'm even more annoyed with myself for not bidding!
