Re: FAVOURITE TRAINS
How do you start something like this? Presumably a big battery and a starter motor but do you just turn a key or push a big red button or is it more a mission control sequence of levers and checklists? [/quote] There are different methods of starting these massive diesel engines, which you can find...

Re: Would be owner....advice please
Hi Also, does anyone know a good place to buy one from in the South East? Madasa Although I didn't obtain my (replica) convertible from there, for the South East I would like to mention http://www.morrisminorconvertible.co.uk/ When I was looking for my Convertible, I came across his website. The on...

No, I am waiting, too. Also, the cheque has not been handed into the bank.Nutts wrote:Has any one got booking confirmation back ?
I sent my cheque a while ago but not heard back yet.

Re: National Rally 2013 - who is going?
I am going. Bed for a night in Calais on the outward journey and the ferries are already booked as is bed and breakfast near Charlbury. I hope my back can cope with 650 or so miles on a Moggy-seat  I am already quite thrilled what to expect, it'll be my very first Rally outside my home country...

Re: FAVOURITE LOCOMOTIVES (TRAINS)
Very nice to see German / continental steam in action. I must admit to my ignorance on this, as I thought that continental railways were modernised / expunged of steam postwar, due to so much being destroyed by allied bombing and later the desire to totally renew the shattered continental network. ...

Re: FAVOURITE LOCOMOTIVES (TRAINS)
I just came across this very nice thread. Interesting to see that there are many Móggie owners who are - like me - also interested in railways and steam locomotives. I'd like to show you two pictures of my favourite locomotive, the German Class 50: http://www.abload.de/img/p1050175xqk3f.jpg The one ...

Re: Snow, Snow - Quick, Quick...SNOW!
Hi folks, over here in SW-Germany the snow melted away yesterday, and at the moment rain is pouring down. That reminds me of the first snowfall of this winter, which occured on 2nd December 2012, and I took the chance to photograph my Moggy in the snow for the first time. Here are two of the shots I...

Re: Steering Judder
I had my brake drums replaced this January, and I am happy I had it done in a garage. They checked the brand new brake drums first, only to find out they were slightly oval! The garage still has a lathe to turn them, which they did, and I can be sure they are perfectly round now. As your judder only...

chain link dropped into tank
A peculiar mishap occured to me and my Moggie recently. When I filled petrol a few weeks ago, I noticed that the chain which connects the petrol filler cap to the tank had broken. Only one link was left at the cap, the rest at the pipe which leads to the tank. As it happens so often, I didn't have t...

My second year with Maggie (with photos)
Hello all, If you are interested to read what happened during my first year with Maggie, here is a link: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=385968p=381363 My last report ended when Maggie was prepared for the 2011 season. After one or two short trips on weekends and a few journeys to and...

Mauritius Morris Minor Club
Hello all, we have just booked our holiday in Mauritius for December 2012. During our last visit to the lovely island we saw one or the other Moggie passing by, but recently I found a video on youtube, showing an outing of the Mauritius Morris Minor Club. I have tried to find the club's website, but...

Re: Lubrication of heater fan
Hi Mike,
I have tried this, but it seems as if the knob has been glued to the lever. Is there a replacement available in case I break it?

Lubrication of heater fan
Last Saturday Maggie took a young wedding couple to the church, a photo shooting and afterwards to the wedding celebrations. As it was - 8 ° C even in the sun, the heater was on all the time, so riding in the car was quite comfortable (the softtop was only opened for a few "official" photo...

Re: uneven braking
At first thank you to all who have giving me advice on my problem. The car is definitely pulling to the left, not weaving, so it can't be the rear axle. I had the problem mentioned having driven about 1,500 miles. When I had the chance to have the car on the jacks I tightened the U-shaped brackets w...

uneven braking
Hi to all, I have read the thread about poor braking a few posts down below with great interest, and I would like to hear what you are thinking about my problem: uneven braking. The situation is: Replica convertible, built 1969, drum brakes and servo, professionally restored (including brakes) in Ma...

My first year with Maggie
I first met Maggie just over a year ago, on 21st April 2010. There she stood in gleaming new paintwork in front of Charles Ware’s Morris Minor Centre in Bristol. It had all begun in July 2009 when my wife and I stopped at the Morris Minor Centre en route from Cornwall to our friend in the West Midla...

? advice sought: book about British cars of '50s and '60s
Before I got my Moggie last April I bought a few books about this car and I was very happy to have all the information before the purchase. But in the meantime my interest has extended to other British cars of the 1950s and 1960s, although I am not planning to buy any more. But I am now looking for ...

Re: History of VUK 128 H
Hello bmcecosse, nice idea to have the car registered in Britain to save costs. The only problem is that I need to have an address in Britain to keep the car registered there. I also have doubts whether the cost for petrol and the car ferry for the regular journeys would exceed the higher costs of r...
