Re: Rollover jig question

Good point! I'll remove the gearbox and propshaft and drain the oil from the axle then. Thanks.

Rollover jig question

I have a rollover jig (two A-frames and bars which fix on to the bumper rods) built specifically for Minors. I need to do some welding underneath and have removed the engine, seats and bonnet, but left the gearbox, propshaft and rear axle on. Is it possible to roll over a Minor saloon with these ite...

Re: Pickup restoration part three

Swapping to disc brakes might affect your insurance. For mine I had to sign something saying that the vehicle was not modified in any way.

I used Red Hematite with the paper gasket on mine, and it has held fast for the last five years.

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

Thanks Cam, very much appreciated! As a an ex-IT manager I know what a thankless task things like this are; lots of hard work and never any praise - only complaints when something stops working properly. Thanks again for keeping it going in spite of obstacles. :D

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

Are you willing to swear blind that GCHQ has not seen the same two emails and if they can well................................. I'm sorry, Amgrave, but I don't see reason in your thinking. It appears you would rather believe that it is ANYTHING other than someone hacking into the MMOC's serv...

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

Ok, so it looks like someone HAS got access to the MMOC email database. Remember a few weeks ago when I said that I was getting phishing scams sent to me via the unique address I use for this forum? Well I changed it to another unique one (mmocchris@...) and guess what I've just had? Yes, another ph...

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

Listening lamp posts - it's turning into 1984! I've just had another phishing email to the same address. This time pretending to be from PayPal and asking me to verify my account! This is interesting, and perhaps a chance to find out more; I'll delete the email address they have and make a new one u...

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

Sorry Amgrave if I misintrepreted your post. It's just that to me it does seem far more likely that someone has got into the MMOC's server to skim off email addresses. I know of someone who, having been disgruntled with their employer, hacked into the company's website and substituted his boss' phot...

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

If you were an I.T. tech I am surprised you are thinking the problems can only arise from this web site. These days it is possible to have malware in your router to skim email addresses and you would not even know it, even firewalled ones (just an example). If the site was the problem nearly all vi...

Re: HMRC Phishing scam email anyone?

As an IT tech I thought I'd offer my two-penneth. I've been using the same email for ages and don't get these. I do, however, have industrial strength security on my laptop. I use commercial antivirus plus anti-spyware software. I don't save passwords locally either, and history and cookies are cle...

Re: New MOT Rules?

As far as I understand this policy was mentioned in the 2016 budget and is in fact going to be law from 1st April 2017. See the update: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vehicle-excise-duty-update-to-40-year-rolling-exemption-for-classic-vehicles/vehicle-excise-duty-update-to-40-year-rollin...

A message for ADMIN.

Sorry for being off-topic but you might not have seen my post in the Off-topic thread as there has been no reply. A hacker has acquired our email addresses from the database for this site. Only three weeks ago I created an email address specifically for use of this site, and now I'm receiving phishi...
