Re: front wheel bearings

Yes, you need an inner and outer bearing and a seal per front wheel. I would strongly recommend you go with the SKF brand because they have been tried and tested by people on this forum. Don't just get ones that are the right size because they are not likely to be the 40° face adjusted variety, whic...

Goodbye taxdisc - or not!

Today will be the last day you can get a tax disc as they will be abolished tomorrow (1st October). BUT, if displaying tax discs is no longer a legal requirement does this mean we can display a 50s/60s tax disc without getting into trouble? If so, I shall be displaying one that expired in 1963 when ...

Re: front wheel bearings

Thanks Katy. Well I can't imagine a situation where my Morris wheels will be spinning at more than 17,000RPM so I'll go for the much cheaper ones! :D

Re: front wheel bearings

I'm about to replace my front bearings, but am a little confused as to the suggestions for SKF 40° face adjusted bearings; The following have been suggested on this thread, and as far as I can see there is no difference except in price - a BIG difference! 7205BEP - Inner 7303BEP - Outer and 7205BECB...

Re: front wheel bearings

i've also had a problem obtaining a good set of front wheel bearings. I bought some from Bull Motif and they had lots of 'play', so six months later I bought some from ESM, but they had the same problem. When I phoned them they said it was normal for Minors to have some movement in the bearings. I p...

Re: Perhaps a more serious subject though for anyone targeted!

A lot of classic cars are also being stolen for use in "Vintage" banger racing. They strip the car of its parts and sell them, then paint the shell and race it. This happened to someone who writes for Practical Classics a few years ago.

Re: Morris Minor Adsa

It must be stolen. Nobody abandons cars these days, least of all a classic, when scrap value is so high. The only other answer is if the owner was taken seriously ill (or worse) whilst shopping in the supermarket.

Re: RE SPOTTED TODAY INFRINGEMENT OF PRIVACY

How would it be if we started a "Blond spotted 19y/o today". Alan That is totally different and you know it! You are NOT your car, and vice versa. If we were posting pictures of people without their knowledge then I would agree with you, but we're not, and as far as I can remember in the ...

Re: RE SPOTTED TODAY INFRINGEMENT OF PRIVACY

I too can't see what the problem is. Should we not look at other people's cars in case we invade their privacy? It's not like we give an exact address of where the car was spotted, and in some cases the car will be seen by hundreds of passers-by every day. Perhaps those deeply concerned with privacy...

DVLA has the colour registered as pink, but as far as its original colour goes is anyone's guess.

Alan - eh?! 80-odd pages of people posting pictures of other people's Minors and you complain about the ones I posted!!! Anyway, it IS actually chained to the ground.
