Re: Distance from the ground

Not quite sure about this Roy.....I think I must have misunderstood. Can't see how this would work as the wheel itself is 14 inches in diameter. Measured mine to the highest point of the wheelarch opening ( assuming that is what you mean ) and it's approx 26.5 inches. Am I being stoopid here? Love t...

Re: Hiding the Gap !

Maybe just do the self-adhesive vinyl ( easy to post) and the purchaser can supply their own board in whatever material takes their fancy?
I'll have one! :D :D
Could do them smaller for window stickers then they would be suitable for any model of Minor?

Prices to cut the cost of engine rebuild!

Was going to put a link to this eBay item, but haven't worked out how to do it! :( Do you think this company are trying to undercut MMOC Spares! I thought at first that it was a misprint, but looking at their other items 'twould seem it ain't. Bryan Gostling better watch out now there's a com...

Re: EU reaches decision on road worthiness testing

For those of us who are not into reading the long tedious and overly wordy ( and often dishonest!) outpourings of political committees, sub-committees and the like, would anyone care to ouline the jist of what that "decision" is? In terms that can be understood by myself as an average &quo...

Re: Chrome Cleaner

I, too, use Solvol Autosol and find it to be excellent. :D :D However, I have before me the Morris Minor 1000 Driver'sHandbook, this particular copy being one of the later ones and from May 1969. Looking in the "Body" section on page 12 under the heading "Bright Trim" it says; &q...

Now that's clever!
Is that lateral thinking or thinking out of the box!?
So obvious when someone suggests it!

Re: The Moggie Diet

Thanks Mickey! You've just explained something which has been troubling me for a long time!!! I've been driving a Golf for several years now! No wonder I'm a wobbler! And there was me thinking it had something to do with my love of food and whisky.   Obviously the sooner I get my Mor...

Well! I see that my input and reminiscing has been a real conversation stopper!
Sorry if I bored you all but I thought that reminiscences were all part and parcel of this site and those who use it. I know I go on a bit but............
Apologies.

The trouble with "smart phones" is that you have to be pretty smart to use them! Damned sight smarter than I am, anyway. I'll stick to ye olde PC!

Re: Grammar & Punctuation RUBBISH!!!

Personally I have no problem with people who have real problems with punctuation and grammar as long as they do their best! The young man in question has, I believe, stated already that he is dyslexic. In my book all power to him for saying so and for getting on and posting to the best of his abilit...

Re: Advice re. GUNGE in MGS's cooling system

Roy, Gunge does seem localised to thermostat housing. None below thermostat seating on the head and, as shown in hose photos, plenty at the thermostat end tailing off as you get closer to the radiator connection. Haven't pulled water pump yet but plan to tomorrow. I agree that conc HCL circulating a...

Re: Advice re. GUNGE in MGS's cooling system

Blues2rock, Are you suggesting perhaps that when I flush the system out I should use some sort of laxative formula? Any suggestions as to the offending "meal"? As for my wee experiment;[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1388780133_18245 [/frame] The gunge seemed largely unaffected ...

Now boys!! No fighting over the studs issue! I think I might go for the longer ones though!! Roy, I've done my wee experiment to see what dissolves the gunk! I've used boiling water ( which, of course, doesn't stay hot for long!)  Mr. Muscle sink and drain unblocker ( caustic soda ), :r...

Looks to be in excellent condition. Is the wood as good as it would (??) appear in this photo?
Hope she continues to run as well as she is just now, and enjoy ownership.

Re: Advice re. GUNGE in MGS's cooling system

Last two years locally perhaps - but was it running? If you take some of the sludge out - does it dissolve in boiling water? Or kettle descaler , or drain cleaner (caustic soda) or citric acid? Some kitchen experiments are called for! And yes - that part could be made of something 'different' if fr...
