Re: Traveller Tuning
That is on the abutment plate, so if you won't have the correct abutment, it will need a piece making up to allow it to bolt down.

Re: Geared camshaft drive.
That looks like a fun bit of kit.
I had the vernier belt drive on a Mini before, it was pretty good. Not a patch on this though of course!
I'm trying to visualise how it mounts up, can you explain?

Re: Fitting an ammeter and a voltmeter
IMG_20180901_193514.jpg This is where i fitted mine. Not to everyones taste, but there were some additional switch holes in the dash for redundant switches, so i thought it better to fit the gauges in their positions. i prefer to reduce the amount of switches and gauges that are hanging. Like yours...

Re: 1958 2 door, rolling resto
Thanks for the kind words, muxh appreciated. Yes, the indicators work well, but i do appreciate that there is a trade off with visibility compared to the big later ones or fitting individual lights as is the norm. I understand why people fit the later units, cheap and everything is there ready to go...

Re: 1958 2 door, rolling resto
Hello folks, Not posted on here for a while as i have been doing lots of little jobs. The car is finally at a point where it is pretty good fun to drive. Engine, after a head gasket change, feels really good. Pulls nicely, obviously not too much low down torque being a bored 948, but it is lovely an...

I did share this on Facebook. I didn't buy one, but they seem very good value.

I appreciate you may just get what you pay for, but may be worth a punt to someone.

Aye up,
If you messaged him previously, it should be in your outbox or sent box, so easy to find him? Then you can ask about who they are with less vagueness.
I'm sorry i can't help with the request though.

Re: 1275 mini engine covert for morris
Aye up, Pretty much a no go with the Mini engine. Too many differences to get it to work, i am sure there was once a conversion, but it is not a thing i have ever seen. You can strip a 1275 Mini engine of its components to fit to your engine (cylinder head, alternator, carburettor, cam) and you'd ha...

Re: Diff options
Hi folks, Thanks for the wisdom thus far. I hadn't really driven it so much since the build, then the head gasket went awry, so i was basing it on the runs i did before the gasket let go. Having now driven it since gasket replacement, i can confirm that it sounds much, much better. This may just giv...

Diff options
Hi folks, Wondering if anybody could give me their diff experiences please. I have a '58, with standard 4.55 diff. My engine is: 998cc (flat tops, high compression) 12G940 head HIF38 with K&N Currently 1098 cam, but will be 731 at some point as i have one spare. With that configuration, i found ...

Re: Head gasket ideas
Hello folks, Did the gasket today, nothing too drastic, appears to have been leaking water into nunber 4 cylinder. Anyhow, all back together and sounds really sweet, reva up freely. 2 annoying things... 1) i was rushing towards the end as i needed to pick up my daughter from nursery, and didn't real...

Re: Head gasket ideas
Interesting about the gasket spray. I am actually hoping to do the gasket tomorrow. If it happens to leak again, then i will give the sealant a go next. If it works, it works. It does seem that that part of the mating face is quite far away from the nearest bolt. Would certainly be helped by an 11 s...

Re: Head gasket ideas
Aye up folks. Thanks for the input thus far. I am quite mechanically minded, hobby mechanic style, but quite confident doing pretty much any jobs automotively. When i first fitted the engine a couple if months back, i did have an issue of oil leaking from the head gasket from the rocker oil feed at ...

Re: Head gasket ideas
Well...it was leaking water at a few places, but at "normal" positions after a rebuild. Thermostat housing, heater outlet, top rad hose.
I did wonder if it was being pressurised.
Well, i'll most likely whip the head off to have a gander. All part of the fun eh!

Head gasket ideas
Hello folks, Whilst not normal, is it possible for the headgasket to leak between oil and water galleries, but not get into the chamber? I noticed my water level was down after the rebuild, so topped up, a bit of mayo in the rocker, but not really used so assumed just condensation as it wasn't a lot...

Re: Glove box door
My old '60 and my dads '60 both had the glovebox stays on the passenger side.
If i am not mistaken, i believe i retro fitted one to my '53 as i put a stereo in the glovebox. I think
My current '58 does not have anything and has a different glovebox door to the 1960 ones.

Re: 52mm clock location
The one Declan shared is probably just a fascia, so the back will be "on show". You can buy dash top pods, like this, that will hide all the wiring and can of course be mounted upside down to go under the parcel shelf. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2F...

Re: Exhaust size
Well, the homemade exhaust had one silencer under the passenger front footwell, then a pipe to the rear. This set up was ridiculously loud. A really, truly ugly loud too. I'm not adverse to a "sporty" sounding exhaust, but it was rubbish. So today i cut it off just after it goes over the a...

Re: Exhaust size
Hi Phil,
Yeah, 1.5" is what i was thinking about really, to be honest that was what i thought mine had on it. partly as it was running a 1275. It was only when measuing that i saw it was 33mm.
I assume it won't cause too much of a restriction?
My.Vizard book is at my dads currently.
