Re: Sad looking Million off to a new home

What was the auction, unusual for a million to be available and not have prior knowledge on the forums ? Do you know what it sold for, purely for interest as to what an unrestored Million (assuming its genuine) is worth, I'm guessing £5000 ?? Given they are selling for £15k + restored.

Re: BMC Main Agents

You can apply for the full history of your car with the DVLA and they give you a list of all the previous keepers, it costs £5, something else I need to get round to doing. My Traveller still has its original reg no and is an Oxford area reg no, I'm hoping it may have been a factory car from Cowley....

Re: How to register a Moggie with DVLA

I wouldn't drive it anywhere untill its reregistered with the DVLA, I believe you have to send them photographic evidence in tha absecence of local DVLA office closures. Police cars are all fitted with recognition systems that link to Road Tax, Insurance and MOT databases. (Hence tax discs are nolon...

Be Careful with the roll cage, I've heard insurance companies need to be notified and I hope you have a spare £500 for your 1275 engine !! Sounds like a cool project - what number are you having painted on the doors ??

Re: Genuine lowlight Convertible for sale?

A mint convertible is worth similar money to a Traveller. If it was genuine yes £16k would be alot but not unrealistic. If a mint 1000 Convertible is worth £10k, I would say a mint converted Series 2 Saloon would be worth £12k. Anything over £10k for a Minor has to be special and I think a low light...

Re: Urgent Info Required

Well a complete wood kit fitted is just under £3000 and that is without any welding or preparation !! So add on wheel arch repairs and across the back in the corner you'll be looking at £4000. Add then the price of a full respray, done professionally, I would say £3000 and again, thats without sills...

Welcome my fellow Traveller, time to get the T-cut out and start enjoying. They come up a treat with abit of effort. The only advice I can give is if your car starts stuttering and being all juddery, first thing to do is replace the condenser. !! They only cost a fiver and even I managed it. Thats t...

Re: 1960 Morris Minor Traveller - advice needed!

That a lovely original looking car, the woods not really rotten and it has the original lights and Trafficators. Mines a 61 and the interior is a nightmare (original 2nd hand) to find as it's the wide slat leather. In this condition, needing minimal work for an MOT, I would say it's worth £2250 to £...

£300 by the police, that's daylight robbery. I'd be glad to get my car back but I'd also be asking if that includes them delivering it back to you and a full valet. Assuming they even bothered to fingerprint check it?

Re: Glove box ..missing lids?

Mine is a mid-61 Traveller and I don't have glovebox lids or the chrome trim but I do have holes for the hinges so they must have been removed at some time. On the lookout for some. Does only the passenger lid have a holding bar?, I'm assuming the drivers does not have one as the steering column act...

Re: Anyone one from down south going to the nationals? :)

You should all use the M1, from Birmingham all the way round Leeds to the A1 it's 50mph roadworks as they are replacing crash barriers. And, Friday afternoons are always busy from about 3pm (this is good for minors as it slows the traffic). I think a lot of Southerners finish work early on a Friday ...

Re: Anyone one from down south going to the nationals? :)

This is a great idea and as your route will be passing and skirting around London up the M1 past Birmingham, Leicester, Notts, Sheffield, Leeds and York. You have the potential to pick up loads of Minors. You could easily meet at certain locations along route allowing 15 minutes for your cars to coo...
