Never use underseal. It hides more than it helps.

Well said Kieth. Could not agree more. I have seen a lot of rubbish printed about Dot5. I cant praise it enough. It is a YES from me.

Re: A guide to waxoyling a Moggy?
When I use waxoyl I dilute it with white spirit and place the container in a bucket of hot water to help with the creep factor. Choosing a warm sunny day helps too. I use the waxoyl's pump and spray can but there may be better options. Remove the bolt on door sills to access the outer box sections.a...

Re: Is DOT 5 as wonderful as some would have...
The rear cylinders on my Traveller used to seize up nearly every year. About twenty five years ago I replaced the rear cylinders, replaced the brake lines and fitted front disk brakes. For good measure i replaced the master cylinder. With all the new components I decided to use silicone brake fluid....

Re: Just out of interest!
The only time I ever had problems with points is when I change them. I find that the oil the manufacturers put on the metal parts soon wander to the point surface and causing them not to work. Try giving them a good clean with degreaser.

A longer rod is the way to go. I made a longer one out of stainless steel.
Re: polishing
Almond green is the worst colour to keep its shine. I last polished mine about twenty years ago.

I have never used feeler gauges as the are difficult to get a correct gap. I use an SPQR (Gunson) adjuster. 8 clicks and it's done.

I changed to disc breaks over 25 years ago. I never fitted a servo and I get on fine with them. A very worthwhile upgrade in my opinion.

Re: Interior courtesy light: 1967 Traveller
Hi Scrooge. I have the same problem with the light disintegrating on my 1969 Traveller. I just checked it out but I have made a bodge to keep it going so I can't tell if it is two or three positions on my switch. None of them work. To stop my battery going flat I have fitted a battery switch. This w...

Morris Minor Warrantee
I was looking for something else and found a Morris Minor service book with a Warrantee certificate in it. I do not know where it came from. I expect the car it belongs to has been scrapped a long time ago.

Re: Replacing wheel cylinders
I would agree with the last post. Best to drain the old fluid and refill with brand new when you have finished. It is the only way you can be sure there is no air in the system. You will probably need to replace the old brake fluid anyway.

Re: New Handbrake cable adjustment
That look very familiar. I had to change my frayed cables for new ones and found the same as you. The springs are fully compressed but I would like to adjust them down a bit further. I must admit I have put up with the situation and have had no problems. I guess you are correct when you say the new ...

I did an engine refurb some time in the 90s. I replaced the bearings and fitted Cord piston rings. I am still running the same engine with no problems.
