Re: They Just Can't Wait....

I shouldn't worry Plod (I speak as an ex-plod with 31 years service) won't be watching there are far to few of them in traffic these days - it's not a 'priority' - normal police cars do not have calibrated speedos so cannot prove you were speeding in Court. Even when you ring the (Essex - although I...

Re: Not what it used to be?

It should be as easy as cut / copy and paste in this day and age (That is about all I am capable of!). The site which hosts my book catalogue - library thing, has an 'upload picture' facility for books without covers and resizes it automatically so you get none of this ' image too large' stuff. The ...

Re: Not what it used to be?

Thanks for this I seek several modern languages, this is not one! I will wait until the children come over. I am sure there was a reason I had them ....programming telly remotes, uploading pix to MMOC site etc

I have been asking how for ages and been ignored. There is another forum which I look at occasionally (!) and the slagging off has to be read to be believed of the entire process

That's probably because both or either have the potential to completely screw up our future.

Re: What is this ?

Although I have long since changed to the screw-on type filter, Recall doing the job you are doing very well. It is always best to use a new o ring on the top of the canister as the old one is often distorted and will leak. It is a real sod to get it right!

Re: Series MM Questions

I am sure that they used to come in sections so that the part that was rusted / blown could, on its own, be replaced rather than an entire system. This would also help in heat bending sections where necessary esp going from the engine to the underside of the car where almost every exhaust I have fit...

Re: Sunvisors for 1957 Saloon

Any idea what with (and do not say paint!) I think they always had a matt finish and the stitched but seemed to be slightly differently coloured. Got to mask off the rivets and the metal corner bits. If I could get hold of an old spare I could have a play. I will look at Auto jumbles unless anyone h...

Re: Sunvisors for 1957 Saloon

Sunvisors for 1957 Saloon

Has anyone restored the cardboard type sunvisors with centre fitting for the 56-19 Series III. Mine are in decent nick structurally but showing their age aesthetically. I hesitate to simply paint them as they are pressed cardboard and the pair whose photo I attach as an example are way out of my pri...

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!

According to Ray Newell's book on MM restoration Sage Green was only in use for a short time like Clarendon Grey, (oct 55- March 59). The wheels, again like Clarendon Grey, should be Sage Green and the coachwork stripe in Birch Grey. Interior could be either Grey or Green with Beagle Green (Never se...

Re: 57 Saloon, rotten!

I had the same when I used the car every day but have now reverted to originality and it looks much better with the little white sidelights at the front and little red ones at the back. Like you I have a '57 four door and with the contemporary colours, the old lights look somehow 'right'. With the f...

As I recall, with a bit of persuasion and washing up liquid, the bullets on the end of the leads will push through the new boot or gaiter
