Re: Column-Mounted indicator stalk
The time delay switch is pneumatic, a leather seal pushed by a spring, the air escaping is reduced by a small conical screw, to slow down the return to the centre. I have made them work before, they can be very temperamental, the leather seal is softened with oil, having said that, mine failed again...

Sadly missed, Roys comments were always very useful and informative, a proper engineer.
My heartfelt condolences to his family.

I also appear to have managed to be placed on some "GULLIBLE MUGS SITE"
Not sure how to be remove, we just have to delete them, and hope they get fed up.
Any one any better ideas?

4 hours from home, all motorway, near Gatwick airport, fantastic.
Seriously team, well done, looks a excellent venue.
Only need our government to allow us to reclaim our tax back on historic vehicle fuel, now there's an idea.
Regards to all Win

Re: front indicator 1958 traveller with semaphors
I have a S11 traveller with semaphores. I also fitted separate sidelights in the headlights, and use an orange bulb in the original side light, for indicators, which I think is very effective. At the rear, I have fitted discrete LED strips inside the door glass, for indicators and brakelights, which...

Hi I run a 1955 series 11 traveller with a 1275 Midget engine 7.1/4" clutch 1098 ribbed gearbox with conversion to retain long gear stick, 3.9 diff and 145 radials. I have retained the original semaphore indicators, added discrete flashers which are controlled by the original lever controlled v...

Can any one offer advice, does it need 2 days, I was thinking about staying overnight off site, going in on the service bus. Any deals on tickets and/or accommodation on site, or any ...

Hi all I will be there too, always an enjoyable day, based at an original National Coal Board engineering workshops, full of loads of interesting stuff. Lots of other engineering stuff to see, steam engines and an original beam engine, I was an apprentice in that area, a few years ago, just after th...

When I was trying to obtain some information about my car, UNK. which was also registered in Hertford in 1955. I contacted the local authority by phone, they were very helpful, and for £5 they sent me a photo copy of the original hand written entry showing the Reg number, date and first owner. Might...

Re: Is this 1st/2nd selector fork fit for re-use?
You have to remove the shaft from the lay gear, slide the gear to one side, and remove the 1st motion into the box, then remove the lay gear, from the box.

Re: Fitting indicators
Hi One way to fit separate rear flashers, as follows. I assume you have a 8 way relay feeding the brake lights and flashers. Number 2 and 6 on the relay feed the front flashers, Number 6 right hand green/white and 2 left hand green/red. These cables need to be extended to the new respective rear fla...
