Hi has your insurance premiums increased? I ask because a friend of mine bought a cat ‘C’ ford Ka write off that had been repaired, and the insurance was crazy money. The INS Company said it was more money to insure a car that had previously been wrote off.

Probably the rear wheel cylinders are stuck - that's where i would start looking. When fitting new shoes you should slacken off the handbrake cables - then adjust up the drums (and check the connection of cable to cylinder lever is free to swivel) - and then nip up the cables to put the lever where...

I had trouble with my handbrake it was quite high before it worked and I noticed I could not lock the back wheels. I adjusted the handbrake cables up which seemed to do the trick. Does anyone know anyone that can repair the capillary on a smiths temperature gauge. I was given a duel water temperature and oil pressure gauge but the end of the capillary that goes into the block has been chopped off. :-?

The correct way to weld a pipe is to purge weld it. Basically, Tack all the joints as reqired then tape one end of the pipe up and pierce a small hole in the centre of the tape.
