Re: Gulp....what do I do?
Although we cannot allow "name and shame" on the public forum, if anyone does have experiences to share with regards to any particular copany, then private messages (PM) can be used between individual members. Even with PMs, remember that there can be two sides to a story. Just to be clea...

Re: Gulp....what do I do?
A suggestion If you are confident in stripping to the bare shell you obviously have good workshop skills, why not enroll in a welding/car rebuilding course, most areas have these ,welding with a mig requires very little training, and with a logical approach and help from the wealth of info on here,I'...

Re: Gulp....what do I do?
I couldn't bring myself to go into the garage yesterday as I was feeling a bit sad about the rust issue. I think I will ask someone to replace the cross member and replace the sills and take it from there, they may uncover more rust but I will have to play it by ear as I go along. As mentioned I hav...

Re: Gulp....what do I do?
Thanks for that, I saw the rust and kind of panicked and digging found more so I really have to keep digging to see exactly what I'm dealing with. I'm located in Bury Lancashire and I have sent an email to the Lancashire Branch to ask for assistance. I have seen a few restorers and have been told to...

Re: Gulp....what do I do?
Thanks for the reply. The rot in the cross member is substantial I was quite disheartened when I saw the extent of it. I have emailed the local branch in the hope someone will come and give me some impartial advice. The rot seems to extend along the nearside sill so its looking like a major job eith...

Gulp....what do I do?
Hi all I had a bit of a knocking from the front end when going over rough roads, so I though I would renew the front suspension. Well all was going to plan when I had to remove one of the torsion bars and on poking around I found some quite advanced rot in the cross member so I carried on and have r...

Where are you located?
Maybe there is someone close who could assist.
If you are close to me I could come have a look.

Re: master cylinder fault
I have just read another thread where the owner was contemplating using a repair kit but has been talked out of it due to failing seals. As the MS is located in a pig of a location if you have to change it you only want to be doing it once. I cannot comment on your particular problem but having had ...

Re: King pin replacement
Thanks for the replies
I did of course mean Trunnion's and not King Pins.
I now have a manual for the Minor so I will have a proper read through before I go to work.
Your help is invaluable.
Regards
Dermot.

King pin replacement
I have purchased a set of King pin to replace the upper and lower king pins on my '65 2 door. I have never worked with king pins on a morris minor before so I have a couple of questions Will replacing the kingpins have an effect on the camber and castor on the front wheels? Secondly if I measure the...

Re: Upgrading my grease gun
Wanner grease guns are a nice size, but try and get a flexi made up as the solid nozzle can be difficult to get into some of the grease points.
I picked my Wanner up cheap from E-bay for a few quid.

Re: Best type of garage door
I built my garage about ten years ago and decided on a roller shutter door, I have just replaced the motor (an easy job) and other than the motor it has never caused me any issues. My door is 10ft wide by 8ft high. It has a remote with it so I can open the door as I approach. the roller shutter door...

Re: Spotted today.
It must be a good weather thing, in the last few days I have seen a few Minors around the Manchester area.
I saw a grey split screen towing a trailer in near Sale, I saw a cream tourer in Cheadle.
Yesterday I saw a blue saloon in Ramsbottom whilst I was in my 2 door.
Nice to see so many out and about.

Impending restoration
Good evening As mentioned in other posts I recently aquired a 1965 2 door morris minor 1000. From a distance it looks fairly presentable and has been painted in the past. The previous owner did things the wrong way round and painted over some rust ( and filler). I intend to have the car professional...

Re: Indicator issue
Apologies I didn't explain myself very well. The indicators work as normal apart from when the light or the heater are switched on. At that point the stalk light stays on constant and the actual indicator goes out, the flasher unit also stops. As the flasher unit then works as normal once the lights...

Indicator issue
Hi all The indicators on my '65 minor 1000 work fine until I switch the lights on or the heater then they freeze. I'm thinking something along the lines of a bad earth or something but I'm not that clued up on electrics. Would fitting a new earth lead help or could any of you experienced minor owner...

Re: Ezibleed query
That may be my issue, in one of the manuals it states to fill the master cylinder to the bottom of the thread for the cap, maybe my cylinder is over full.
I will try persuade my wife to pump the pedal for me again.
Thanks for the information thus far.
Dermot.
