'Famous' Morris drivers
Went to a superb Fairport Convention gig in Chesterfield last night. Their vocalist,Simon Nicol, mentioned that he drives a 1959 Traveller. Any other well known Minor drivers that we know of?

Re: Where are these seats from please?
Just been and compared the photos to my 1955 Austin a30. Superficially similar but wider than the a30 and the metal frame shown in the pics would not work in the Austin. It wouldn't straddle the crossmember.

Oh dear, I binned a mod like that when I restored our '61saloon 6 years ago. Should have donated it but I was into originality at the time and couldn't see then point of the useless information.

The tiles in your garage are identical to those on our kitchen floor. Must be a posh garage?

Captain Tolleys! Never used it on a car but great for sorting out 'minor' central heating pipe leaks!

I still agre with our Bobby that visible deterrence is more effective than clever technology.

Re: Do we know when we are NOT buying Ethanol ??
Well, I think it's all a bit concerning( and sneaky). I guess we need more concrete guidance about the dangers and ways we can protect our cars.

Re: Tyre inflation
I've noticed quite a variation between the psi readings on the gauges at our 2 local garages. Also both differed from my pressure gauge. I wonder how accurate they are?

I've always been led to believe that travs and roof racks are not a happy combination.

Re: garage alarm
Our local Bobby reckons the most important part of any alarm system is a prominent alarm box. Deters the casual thief, he says.

Is there not just a range of pressures that are safe and we can all experiment and choose our preferred choice within that range?

Re: insurance
Quite right. Our trav has a 1275 marina engine, Sierra 5 speed box etc. Insurer noted but made no difference to cost.1967 Trav, 1961 saloon, 1955 A30 and 1972 marathon beetle all for£260 per year with KGM. Can't go abroad but wasn't planning to anyway. Cheap as chips. 12k miles a year between them.

Re: Tyre inflation
I don't think there's a definitive answer to this. Original recommendations are prob useless because our cars//tyres are not often to orig spec. I'm inclined to agree with Bmc on tyre pressures for the trav( highish) but our saloon is better on 28 front,26 rear. Don't know why, just trial and error.
