Changing the boot lock

Hi
I'm trying to change my boot lock, how do you remove the barrel from the handle?
I've managed to change the door and ignition locks but the boot lock has defeated me

Thanks

Remember me? :D 3 years after the start of the this thread and 6 years after the start of the restoration I've finally finished university and am back home to continue work :) I started with some easy jobs to get back into the swing so the engine is repainted and looking very snazzy[frame] http://mm...

Re: Spotted today.

Saw an almond green saloon driving down welford road in kingsthorpe Northampton today, I didnt catch the number or how many doors as I just recognised the noise when it drove past so ran and peeped over the fence to see it in the distance, is that a bit sad?

Re: Replacing the head gasket

The 2 nuts method worked and i eventually got the head free, thanks Katy,
The old gasket seemed to be in reasonable condition but the engine is running a lot smoother with the new one so hopefully its fixed my problems :)

Re: Replacing the head gasket

I finally found the time to have a go on the head gasket today. As is always the case one part is completely stuck. It seems the middle (removal order no1) stud is seized into the head, the head is slightly loose and wiggles around the other studs yet stud 1 wiggles with it. Ive left it to soak but ...

Replacing the head gasket

Hi. My engine has started having running problems, lacking in power and very jumpy at higher revs, ive noticed its using a lot of oil and theres a slight bit of yellowy gunk appeared down the side. I assume this means the head gasket has gone? If so, how hard is it to replace? Ive done a fair bit of...

Re: Emily's new interior

This is mainly for the benefit of Charlie who was asking about the fitment of the seats. My aim was to try and make use of what came with the seats originally.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1351115240_6735 [/frame] This is the orginal layout of the feet as fitted in a Ford Ka, obviously ...

Re: Emily's new interior

Hi Lou,
The cards are just PVC wipeclean table cloth material, hence they're such a vibrant colour :D and easy to keep clean :P it was just supposed to be cheap and temporary until I found a matching material for the seats but I quite like it now :D

Emily's new interior

Hi :D I thought I'd just show off what I've been working on for the last couple of weeks. I've been after some snazzy new seats to replace the cloth metro ones I had fitted and was hoping for an upgrade to leather, though it's quite difficult to find modern leather seats that fold for access in the ...
