"- Next time it does it take plugs out to see if they are flooded or the dash pot off to see if the carb is full of fuel." Before you go to that sort of trouble, get yourself round to the back of the car and have a sniff near the exhaust pipe. You'll soon know if flooding is the problem, t...

Re: A bit cheeky
IMHO Charles Ware cars are much overpriced, although I am sure the quality is excellent. But, presumably, they still find buyers for them. Do those buyers then join the OC and/or come on here, I wonder. Might be instructive to invite feedback/opinions from any that do, particularly as to whether or...

Then I spotted this, maybe we undervalue our moggies. https://www.morrisminor.org.uk/car-for-sale/211-1968-trafalgar-blue-4-door And (sniff) I would have hoped that, by now, the people at Charles Ware might know the difference between 'concourse' (a large open area inside or in front of a public bu...

Your replacement condenser isn't one of the many duff ones that are available now by any chance is it?

I used to maintain the trunnions on my Lotus Elan with EP90 applied from a Wanner grease gun. It worked well with no issues arising.

Re: A new home for Max the Minor
For everyday use though, when the Polo gives up, I've often considered an Austin Maxi to be a sound choice. Often derided when in 1500 format but what do you think? I had a 1750 Maxi for a couple of years in the early seventies and it was a car that couldn't be faulted. Reliable, roomy, comfortable...

Re: Don't Dwell On It?
Oh dear! I seem to have inadvertently opened something of a can of worms here. Re the current (no pun intended - honest!) mild spat/constructive disagreement on the subject, a little Google research revealed the following which, to my reading at least, appears to confirm geoberni's view:- https://ww...

Don't Dwell On It?
In the far reaches of my personal man-cave, among the long-since replaced spark plugs that 'seem to be still OK so may come in useful one day as a spare' (or is that just me?) and sundry ignition leads, dizzy arms etc, is a dwell-meter with which I used to fine-tune the ignition of my long-departed ...
