That label was usually tied to the screw jack in the toolkit I think.

I found that even replacement of the seal and blocking off the inlet hole I couldn't get mine to hold for more than 30secs before returning. OK for the 1950s I suppose but not much good today. I decided to just remove the spring and allow it to be used manually.

Hi there. You are right on all counts. Aphm would have been the original 803 cc engine but as you say yours has a 1098 fitted which looks like it might be a silver seal engine. The radiator is also a later one. Looks like a good project. Your grill and wheels would have been body colour and the heat...

I was lucky enough to get hold of another damaged dynamo and was able to use the armature from that. They do appear online for sale quite often. Just ensure you get the same type as you already have.

D for Deluxe, S for standard
Paint finish would have been recorded as you say in the chassis number, prior to this it would have been a paper sticker denoting standard or deluxe spec.

Series 2 hinges are different, they dont open as wide. best to repin your originals

the spliter for the window vents is just push fit with the ducts up to the vents. I find that heater really good. no cold fresh air intake :D

some late split screen had the Bakelite heater, but the gold heater was fitted up to 56
